Odawara Luggage Storage: Enjoy the Castle Town with Less
Share
Give Odawara more than a hurried transfer with a suitcase in tow. With Silk Crane, send extra luggage from your hotel into storage and enjoy the castle town with a smaller bag, then arrange delivery when those belongings are needed later.
A castle-town pause on a longer holiday
Imagine arriving in Odawara between a Tokyo stay and several nights farther west. You have already sent a suitcase of shopping from the hotel to Silk Crane and kept what you need in a compact bag.
You can make time for the town, choose a lunch spot and visit the castle area without pulling the extra case behind you. Later, arrange its delivery to a hotel that can receive it, leaving enough time for shipping.

Keep the belongings for later out of this stop
Use Silk Crane for spare clothes, purchases and other belongings that are not needed during this part of Japan. Choose storage before your Odawara visit and send the suitcase from the hotel. The next train does not have to include a return to a locker holding that case.
Keep the overnight bag and anything needed during shipping with you. If the whole suitcase is needed again today, use local holding instead of sending away belongings you will need immediately.
Choose same-day holding around the station
Odawara Tourism Association’s station-area locker list identifies banks around the JR and Odakyu gates, the Daiyuzan side, east and west exits and HaRuNe. Treat the list as a location guide and read current prices, access and fit at the actual bank.
The Odakyu Odawara luggage counter is opposite the Odakyu gates in the east-west passage. Its page advertises holding for suitcases and bags that do not fit a locker, with identification required. Ask about current space before making it the only plan.
Make the town visit a deliberate stop
A castle visit and lunch need more time than walking straight between railways. Look at the official Odawara Castle access guide and allow time to return, retrieve today’s bag and reach the correct gate.
For the detailed attraction plan, use our Odawara Castle luggage guide. If you are continuing into Hakone, decide whether the suitcase belongs at an Odawara locker or should go onward to the hotel; avoid leaving it behind simply because this is the first station you pass.
Use the luggage deadline, not a general office closing time
The operator’s luggage-specific page lists acceptance from 8:30 to 16:00 and collection by 16:30. Check that deadline on the day, especially if you are planning a late castle visit or dinner. A general sightseeing-centre listing can show different hours without extending luggage collection.
For lockers, check the bank’s access hours and extra-day charges. Photograph its location and keep the collection receipt or code. East, west and railway names are more useful than remembering only that it was “at Odawara Station.”
Send the spare suitcase and plan its return
Book storage, follow the sending instructions and ask your hotel front desk to help arrange the shipment. Keep medicine, documents and the belongings you need during shipping with you. Confirm that your later hotel can receive the case, then plan your storage and delivery dates.
Silk Crane receives shipped belongings for monthly or annual storage and later delivery. Shipping is charged separately; the storage and shipping cost guide explains the distinction. Arrange delivery in advance rather than expecting immediate collection at the station or attraction.

Questions before you go
Is Silk Crane useful for an Odawara stop?
Yes, when extra belongings are for later in the holiday. Send them from your hotel into storage and carry what you need through Odawara, with delivery arranged for a later stop.
Where can I leave a bag I need again today?
Station-area lockers or the Odakyu counter are local choices. Check space, fit, access and the collection deadline before leaving it.
Does the Odakyu counter take bags too large for lockers?
Its luggage page says it does, with identification required. Confirm current acceptance and capacity with the counter; the published collection deadline is 16:30.
Should I store luggage in Odawara before going to Hakone?
Only if collecting it here fits your route. If you are staying in Hakone, compare the hotel’s arrangements and Hakone-Yumoto’s local delivery service before leaving the bag in Odawara.

For holding during a central-town visit, Odawara Visitor Center accepts bags from 9:00 to 16:00 for same-day collection, subject to space. The center at Honcho 1-7-50 ordinarily closes at 17:00; confirm collection when leaving the bag. It is separate from the Odakyu station counter and Nariwai rest house.
