Gora Station luggage storage: send extra luggage from your hotel and enjoy the mountain connection with a small bag.

Gora Station Luggage Storage and Coin Lockers

Reach Gora ready for the next mountain connection, with less luggage to manage. With Silk Crane, send the spare suitcase from your hotel into storage and carry what you need for Hakone, then arrange delivery when those belongings are needed later.

A smaller bag for the Gora connection

Picture a Hakone break after a longer city stay. Your extra suitcase holds purchases and outfits for later in Japan, so you arrange shipment from the hotel to Silk Crane and keep a compact bag for the mountain nights.

At Gora, you can concentrate on the next connection or a walk toward the hotel instead of handling the spare case. When this stage is over, arrange delivery of the stored belongings to a later hotel that can receive them.

Send what you will not need in Hakone

A lighter Gora transfer starts with packing for this part of the trip. Book storage before the Gora journey and send the spare suitcase from your hotel. Keep the clothes, medicine, documents and other essentials needed during shipping.

Silk Crane’s storage and later delivery can remove the need to return to Gora for that extra case. If the suitcase contains tonight’s things, first consider your hotel’s arrangements or local holding that fits the day.

Look near the station’s ticket-counter area

The official Gora station guide lists coin lockers and temporary luggage drop-off. The map places the locker symbol near the ticket-counter and cable-car gate area; the written guide identifies paid holding at the ticket counter.

Check the bank’s size and current access, or ask at the counter about space, charges and the last collection time. A general train operating time is not a luggage-counter deadline. Keep the receipt or locker code and note the precise location before leaving the station.

Gora’s cable car is not the ropeway

Gora is the transfer between the Hakone Tozan railway and the cable car toward Sounzan. The ropeway begins at the later Sounzan connection. Keep those names separate when planning where to leave a bag and where to retrieve it.

The Hakone transport FAQ says large luggage cannot be taken on the ropeway. Do not assume a case can travel onward simply because you brought it on the railway to Gora. Decide before that part of the journey whether local holding, hotel arrangements or sending the spare case away fits best.

Choose holding around the end of the outing

A Gora locker can suit a visit that brings you back here. It is less useful if the day continues over the mountain and finishes near Lake Ashi or a different hotel. Compare the collection journey with the remaining transport before leaving the suitcase.

The Hakone Open-Air Museum luggage guide covers the museum’s own visitor facilities. The museum’s nearest railway stop is Chokoku-no-Mori, so do not choose Gora holding on the assumption that the museum is inside this station.

Send the spare suitcase and plan its return

Book storage, follow the sending instructions and ask your hotel front desk to help arrange the shipment. Keep medicine, documents and the belongings you need during shipping with you. Confirm that your later hotel can receive the case, then plan your storage and delivery dates.

Silk Crane receives shipped belongings for monthly or annual storage and later delivery. Shipping is charged separately; the storage and shipping cost guide explains the distinction. Arrange delivery in advance rather than expecting immediate collection at the station or attraction.

Questions before you go

Are there lockers at Gora Station?

Yes. The official station guide and map list them near the ticket-counter and cable-car gate area. Check availability, suitcase fit and access at the bank.

Can station staff hold luggage at Gora?

The official guide lists paid temporary holding at the ticket counter. Ask about current acceptance, space, charges and the last collection time.

Does the Hakone Ropeway leave from Gora?

No. The cable car runs from Gora toward Sounzan, where you can transfer to the ropeway. That distinction matters when choosing a luggage collection point.

Should I leave my bag at Gora for a one-way route?

Only if you intend to return for it. If the itinerary finishes elsewhere, compare the hotel’s arrangements or send later-trip belongings into Silk Crane storage before this stage.
