Travel onward from Ueno with the bag you need for the next stop. Send the spare suitcase from your hotel front desk or a convenience store to Silk Crane for monthly or annual storage and arrange later delivery. Shipping is charged separately; your next train is easier with less to carry.
Choose storage for your Tokyo trip
A Ueno connection before the next part of Japan
Imagine finishing a Tokyo stay before several days in northern Japan. You sign up with Silk Crane and send the larger suitcase from your hotel front desk using the supplied instructions. Your smaller bag holds the clothes, documents and essentials you need during the next stretch and shipping time; later delivery is arranged to your final Tokyo hotel.
If you have already checked out and are heading through Ueno with the packed case, you can send from a convenience store after signing up. Enjoy lunch before your train with less to carry. If you leave a separate overnight bag locally, save its exact railway and collection point before stepping out.

A convenience-store stop, then a lighter day
Already out with a suitcase you will not need for the next part of the trip? Picture sending it from a convenience store, then carrying on with a small bag. Sign up for Silk Crane, follow the supplied sending instructions, keep your essentials during shipping and arrange delivery to a later hotel in Japan.

Choose a locker floor or a separate Keisei counter
The JR East Ueno locker guide describes banks around the 1F central-gate area, M2 Shinobazu area and 3F park and Iriya areas, among others. It distinguishes banks inside and outside the gates. Check current signs, dimensions, payment and access at the locker you choose.
At a different station, Keisei-Ueno’s baggage counter advertises holding for large luggage that does not fit lockers and also accepts enquiries about multiple-day holding. Its published hours are 9 am–6 pm. Confirm current terms and collect by the agreed time.
Keep JR, Metro and Keisei-Ueno distinct
A JR locker is not at the Keisei counter, and an airport train from Keisei-Ueno does not remove the need to retrieve a bag left at JR Ueno. Record the operator, floor, gate side and locker or counter name. Allow for the walk between the different railway areas before your departure.
For a park, museum or Ameyoko outing, the separate Ueno visitor guide helps you choose the day’s route. Keep this station guide for arrival, holding and the return to your train.
If your Skyliner connection is at Nippori, use the separate Nippori Station luggage guide. A suitcase left at Ueno still needs collection here before you travel to Nippori.
A departure-day bag bound for Narita
If you need your suitcase at Narita that evening, Keisei’s airport-delivery announcement describes a separate service: drop at the Keisei-Ueno baggage counter by noon, then collect between 4 pm and 9 pm at the named JAL ABC counter in Terminal 1 North Wing or Terminal 2. Confirm the current service, bag acceptance and collection arrangements with the counter before relying on it for a flight.
That service forwards a bag for the departure day. Silk Crane stores belongings you send in for later use, with delivery arranged around the next part of your trip.
Send the extra case and arrange its return
Sign up for your storage plan and use the supplied sending instructions to send from your hotel front desk or a convenience store. If you are already out with your packed suitcase, you can use a convenience store without returning to the hotel. Keep documents, medicine and everything needed during shipping with you.
Silk Crane receives shipped belongings for monthly or annual storage and later delivery. Shipping is charged separately. Before sending, confirm that your later hotel can receive the case and plan your luggage delivery dates around Tokyo. The storage and shipping cost guide explains the separate charges.
Questions before you go
Are Ueno and Keisei-Ueno the same station?
They serve different railways and have different entrances and storage facilities. Use the full operator and station name when saving a collection point.
Where can I ask about a case too large for a locker?
Keisei-Ueno’s baggage counter advertises large-luggage holding. Check current acceptance, charges and capacity directly before relying on it.
Can I use a JR locker without returning through a gate?
Choose an outside-gate bank if that fits your journey. The JR guide identifies gate-side differences; check the actual bank and return access.
Can Silk Crane deliver my stored case for the flight home?
Arrange delivery to your final hotel or a suitable airport pickup arrangement in advance, allowing shipping time. Keep travel documents and essentials with you.
