Nippori Station Luggage Storage: Lockers and the Skyliner Connection
Share
Make Nippori an easier connection between Tokyo and Narita. With Silk Crane, send the spare suitcase from your hotel front desk or a convenience store, continue with a smaller bag and arrange delivery to a later hotel. Monthly or annual storage is available, with shipping charged separately.
A Tokyo stay, then a smaller bag for the next trains
Imagine staying near Nippori after arriving from Narita, with a week in other Japanese cities still ahead. You sign up for Silk Crane, follow the supplied sending instructions and send the suitcase of extra clothes and shopping from your hotel front desk. Keep the clothes, documents and essentials needed during shipping in a smaller bag, and arrange delivery to your final Tokyo hotel.
Already out after checkout with the packed case? A convenience store can be your sending point. Once the extra luggage is on its way to storage, enjoy a walk towards Yanaka or take your next train without a return trip to collect that suitcase. A separate bag needed tonight can stay in agreed local holding.

Where to leave a bag at Nippori Station today
For a suitcase you need again this afternoon, choose a locker or agreed local holding. JR East Smart Logistics lists these two Multi-e-cube locations at Nippori:
- Inside the ticket gates: the Keisei transfer-gate bank, near the elevators for platforms 3 and 4. Check how your ticket allows you to return before leaving the paid area.
- Outside the ticket gates: the North Exit Gate, West Exit Passage bank. This may fit a visit outside the station, provided its collection route suits your next train.
The operator lists access from first train to last train, subject to facility changes. Check the actual bank’s hours, compartment dimensions and current vacancy. Include wheels and handles when checking your suitcase’s fit. Online rates include a reservation fee; read the total and terms before booking.
Photograph the locker number and nearest gate sign, and keep the collection details. If the bag will not fit or the bank is full, ask your hotel about holding or choose a bookable local service with a specific address and collection time before setting off.
Plan the JR–Skyliner connection around your bags
Nippori connects JR trains with Keisei’s Skyliner for Narita Airport. Use the JR Nippori station map alongside Keisei’s direction-specific Nippori maps. A locker near a transfer gate and one outside the station do not have the same return route.
Collect a locally stored suitcase before beginning the airport transfer. Leave time to reach the correct gate and train, and check which airport terminal your flight uses. At the airport, stored-luggage collection follows the carrier and counter named in your delivery arrangement; the Narita Airport luggage guide covers that part of the trip.
Ueno is a different station area. If your itinerary starts there, use the Ueno Station luggage guide. A bag left at Ueno must be collected there before a later connection at Nippori.
Step outside with a small bag
A walk towards Yanaka can fit a Nippori stop once the luggage plan is settled. Choose your walking route and return time before leaving the station, especially when a Skyliner booking or flight follows. Keep this outing separate from the airport transfer rather than allowing a station locker to decide the whole afternoon.
If you use local holding, include the walk back to that exact bank. For the spare suitcase sent to Silk Crane, arrange later delivery and continue to the next part of Japan with what you need.
Send the extra case and travel onward
Sign up for Silk Crane, follow the supplied sending instructions and send from your hotel front desk or a convenience store. Keep everything needed during shipping in the bag travelling with you. The week-or-longer storage guide explains how a monthly plan can cover a shorter break.
Arrange delivery to a later hotel that can receive the suitcase, with time for shipping. For a flight-day collection, choose the terminal and counter through the hotel and airport delivery guide. Shipping to storage and later delivery are charged separately.
Silk Crane receives shipped belongings for monthly or annual storage and arranged later delivery. Use local holding for a suitcase needed again today; there is no Silk Crane walk-in collection counter at Nippori Station.
Nippori luggage storage questions
Are there luggage lockers outside Nippori’s ticket gates?
Yes. Multi-e-cube lists a bank outside the gates in the North Exit Gate’s West Exit Passage. Check the bank’s current vacancy, size and collection instructions before leaving your suitcase.
Can I leave a bag near the Skyliner transfer?
The operator lists a bank inside the gates near the Keisei transfer gate and the elevators for platforms 3 and 4. Record the gate side and confirm how you will regain access to collect the bag.
Can I walk towards Yanaka before my airport train?
Plan the outing around your actual train and flight. Leave time to return to the locker, collect the bag and reach the correct Keisei gate. Local locker hours do not determine how much airport time you need.
Can I send my suitcase after checking out?
Yes. Sign up for Silk Crane and use the supplied instructions to send from a convenience store. Keep the belongings needed during shipping with you and arrange later delivery. Monthly or annual storage and shipping are charged separately.
