Nippori luggage storage: send a suitcase from the hotel and explore Yanaka’s lanes with a daypack.

5 Nippori Luggage Storage Options Compared

Make Nippori an easier stop between Tokyo, Narita and the rest of Japan. With Silk Crane, send the spare suitcase from your hotel front desk or a convenience store and arrange delivery to a later hotel.

Monthly and annual storage, with shipping charged separately, frees you from returning to the same station for that bag. If you need the suitcase for today’s Skyliner, use local holding instead. At Nippori, the gate side matters as much as the price.

A Yanaka walk before leaving Tokyo behind

Nippori luggage storage: send a suitcase from the hotel and explore Yanaka’s lanes with a daypack.
Send the spare suitcase and enjoy Yanaka’s quieter lanes with a daypack.

Imagine a traveler based near Nippori before several nights in smaller Japanese towns. Her large case holds spare clothes for the final Tokyo stay. She signs up for Silk Crane and uses the supplied instructions to send it from her hotel front desk, keeping her shipping-day essentials in a smaller bag.

She can wander the lanes toward Yanaka before the next train, then arrange delivery to a different Tokyo hotel later. If she has already checked out with the packed case, a convenience store can be the sending point. Today’s travel bag stays with her; the spare suitcase does not dictate a return to Nippori.

A convenience-store stop, then a lighter day

Already out with a suitcase you will not need for the next part of the trip? Picture sending it from a convenience store, then carrying on with a small bag. Sign up for Silk Crane, follow the supplied sending instructions, keep your essentials during shipping and arrange delivery to a later hotel in Japan.

An ordinary suitcase at 7-Eleven

Nippori luggage storage: hand over your suitcase at a 7-Eleven and head towards the station with a small daypack.
Already out after checkout? Send from a convenience store and continue with your smaller bag.

1. Silk Crane: send the bag and arrange later delivery

Choose Silk Crane when the extra suitcase can skip part of your trip. Send from your hotel front desk or a convenience store, keep a smaller bag and arrange delivery when you need the stored belongings again. There is no trip to a Silk Crane storage location and no return journey to collect from the same locker.

Cost: a monthly or annual plan, plus separate shipping. Compare the current storage plans together with sending and return-delivery costs. Silk Crane has no walk-in counter at Nippori and does not provide immediate retrieval or same-day local holding.

Sign up before sending and use the supplied address and instructions. Keep documents, medicine and everything needed during shipping with you. The hotel and airport delivery guide explains how to plan the bag’s return. If the suitcase simply needs to reach your next hotel soon, direct forwarding may be the simpler arrangement.

2. JR inside-gate Multi-e-cube: near the Keisei transfer

The inside-gate Nippori Multi-e-cube listing places this bank near the Keisei transfer gate and elevators for platforms 3 and 4. Published storage charges run from ¥300 for SS to ¥800 for L; online booking adds a ¥500 reservation fee.

The operator lists access from first to last train. Before leaving JR’s paid area, check how your ticket allows you to return. This is useful for a JR-based connection, but a bank beside a transfer gate is not a promise of access from every Keisei approach.

3. JR West Exit Passage Multi-e-cube: outside the gates

The North Exit Gate West Exit Passage bank is outside the gates. Storage is listed at ¥500 small, ¥600 medium and ¥800 large, with ¥500 extra for an online reservation. Access is from first to last train.

This can fit an outing toward Yanaka without planning paid-area re-entry just to retrieve the case. It is a second physical location from the same operator, included because the collection journey is different. Check the full quote and compartment dimensions before booking; published inventory is not a guarantee of a vacant large locker.

4. Toei Nippori-Toneri Liner lockers: another gate area

Toei’s Nippori facilities directory places lockers in the 2F outside-gate concourse near the Garden Tower-side gate. It lists standard, medium and large compartments, with only a small number of large spaces.

Check the bank’s displayed charge and collection access. These lockers are in the Nippori-Toneri Liner area, not the JR–Keisei transfer passage. Photograph the nearby sign so “Nippori Station” is not your only clue when you return.

5. APA Hotel TKP Nippori-ekimae: a bookable local counter

The APA Hotel TKP Nippori luggage booking page offers baggage holding at 5-52-9 Higashi-Nippori and currently describes 24-hour staff service. Reserve the storage service and check the quote for your dates, bag and collection time.

Walking route to APA Hotel TKP Nippori-ekimae — about 190 m / 3 minutes from the Nippori Station police box (2-19-7 Nishi-Nippori). This is a paid booking option rather than a promise that any nearby hotel will hold non-guests’ luggage. It can be useful when a counter handoff suits your day better than a compartment.

Two nearby places to send your suitcase

Your hotel front desk may save a walk altogether. Already out with the suitcase? Yamato’s directory lists these convenience stores as accepting shipments. They are sending points, not Silk Crane storage branches.

7-Eleven Nippori Station North

2-21-6 Nishi-Nippori

Walking directions to 7-Eleven Nippori Station North — about 230 m / 3 minutes from the Nippori Station police box (2-19-7 Nishi-Nippori).

FamilyMart Nippori Station Front

5-52-2 Higashi-Nippori

Walking directions to FamilyMart Nippori Station Front — about 72 m / 1 minute from the Nippori Station police box (2-19-7 Nishi-Nippori).

Yamato store listing

The directory lists both stores as open 24 hours. Carrier collection has separate cutoffs, and these stores do not accept Size 180 or 200 parcels. For larger luggage, use a Yamato service center and follow your sending instructions.

Walking estimates were checked on October 5, 2026, from the named starting point beside each link. They exclude platforms, indoor navigation, queues and the shipping handoff. The routes are useful examples, not a claim that these are the nearest stores. Allow extra time with luggage.

Questions before choosing

Why list two JR banks?

They are on different sides of the ticket gates. That changes whether you need railway access and how you return from Yanaka or connect to the Skyliner. They are two location choices from the same operator.

Can I leave the case until a future Japan visit?

Silk Crane’s monthly and annual plans can suit repeat visits. Arrange shipping and later delivery in advance. Station-locker access and maximum storage periods make ordinary lockers a different kind of service.

Keep the next part of Japan simple

Send the extra luggage from your hotel front desk or a convenience store and arrange delivery to a later stop. Choose monthly or annual storage; shipping is charged separately.
