Fukuoka to Kyushu: Travel with a Smaller Bag
Share
Leave the extra suitcase out of your Kyushu adventure. Send it from your hotel front desk or a convenience store to Silk Crane, explore with a smaller bag, and arrange delivery to a later hotel.
Explore monthly and annual storage
From Hakata shopping to a quieter Kyushu stay

Picture a few days in Fukuoka at the start of a longer Japan trip, followed by Nagasaki and a hot-spring stay in Beppu. Your suitcase holds shopping and clothes you will not need on this part of the journey. You send it from the hotel near Hakata to Silk Crane and pack a smaller bag for the days ahead.
After Kyushu, you are heading to Tokyo. Arrange delivery to your final hotel there, leaving more room in the trip for evening walks and a long soak—and no return journey to Fukuoka just to collect your luggage.
After signing up with Silk Crane, follow your supplied sending instructions. If you are already out with the packed suitcase, you can send it from a convenience store before continuing your Kyushu circuit. Keep the clothes, documents and everyday essentials you need during shipping with you.
Send from your hotel front desk or a convenience store
You do not need to find a Silk Crane counter in Fukuoka. Sign up online, then send your suitcase from your hotel front desk or a convenience store using the storage details you receive. Our waybill guide for your Fukuoka shipment helps with the form.
Keep your passport, medication, valuables and the clothes you need with you. If the shopping continues, you can send later purchases to storage too.
A longer circuit or just an afternoon?
Silk Crane’s monthly and annual plans suit belongings you can leave out of a longer journey or keep in Japan between visits. Shipping is charged separately, so include both the journey into storage and later delivery when comparing plans.
For a few hours around Hakata with collection the same day, choose local short-stay storage. If you need the suitcase at the very next hotel, direct forwarding may be simpler. Shipping into storage and back takes time.
Choose where you want the suitcase next
Your journey does not have to circle back to Fukuoka. Arrange delivery to a later hotel in Japan, check that it can receive the suitcase, and share your booking details. Plan the timing before you rely on a delivery date; the hotel delivery guide and delivery timing guide explain what to arrange.
Questions before you go
Can I store luggage while I travel around Kyushu?
Yes. Send your packed suitcase from your Fukuoka hotel or a convenience store and keep the smaller bag you need for the next part of the trip.
Do I need to return to Hakata to collect it?
No. Arrange delivery to a later hotel in Japan so you can keep moving forward.
Can I send shopping straight from a Fukuoka store?
Ask the seller about shipping after you open an active Silk Crane account. For a prepaid purchase, give the seller your assigned storage address, customer name and suite number.
Can I get the suitcase back that evening?
Use local short-stay storage for same-day collection. Ship-to-storage is for belongings you can leave out of your plans while the shipments take place.
