Yamato Waybills: Send Your Luggage to Storage in Japan

The next part of Japan starts with a lighter bag.
A Yamato waybill is the shipping label for your suitcase. You can get one at your hotel, a Yamato counter, 7-Eleven or FamilyMart, then complete it in English using the sending instructions supplied after you sign up.
Keep the sender copy and tracking number. Your extra luggage can go to Silk Crane while you carry on with the holiday.
Send the spare suitcase from your hotel front desk or a convenience store using your Silk Crane instructions. Monthly and annual storage plans are available; shipping is charged separately.
One hotel handover, a lighter week ahead
Imagine leaving Tokyo for a week of smaller inns and train journeys. At the hotel front desk, you copy your Silk Crane address and suite number onto the waybill.
The larger suitcase goes to storage. You leave with the clothes and essentials for the week, then arrange delivery for your later hotel.
Sign up first so the address and suite details are ready for this Tokyo handover. If you are already outside with the case, use the supplied instructions at a convenience store. Keep the clothes, medication and documents you need during shipping in the smaller bag.

Pick up a blank waybill nearby
Ask at the hotel front desk, a Yamato sales office or an airport Yamato counter. You can also get forms at 7-Eleven and FamilyMart, or request one with a Yamato pickup.
Use the form and sending method in your Silk Crane instructions. Sports gear may use a different carrier service from an ordinary suitcase.
Use the payment method in your instructions
Silk Crane accepts and encourages freight-collect shipments from active customers following their sending instructions. Chakubarai means the receiver pays the shipping charge.
It is different from TA-Q-BIN Collect, which collects payment for merchandise and needs Silk Crane’s agreement before a seller sends an order. Shipping is separate from storage.
Copy your account details clearly
Use the current storage address, customer name, telephone number and suite number supplied by Silk Crane. You can complete the waybill in English.

Check the form before the bag leaves
Match the prepaid or freight-collect form to the instructions you received. Check the recipient details, package contents and the tracking copy before handover.
For budgeting, use the shipping estimates. The convenience is in sending from nearby and arranging delivery later, without a trip to a storage location.

Can I use freight collect for Silk Crane?
