Sapporo shopping: pack gifts and clothing for later delivery and keep traveling with a smaller bag.

Tanukikoji, Odori and Susukino Shopping Guide: Shops and Hokkaido Gifts

Enjoy Sapporo shopping without carrying every purchase through the rest of Japan. With Silk Crane, send packed luggage from your hotel front desk or a convenience store and arrange delivery to a later stop. Monthly and annual storage is available; shipping is charged separately.

For this shopping day, connect three nearby areas: Odori for larger stores, Tanukikoji for the arcade and gifts, and Susukino for a final browse before dinner. Choose a few useful stops instead of treating every shop as a must-see.

Six shopping stops with different purposes

Tanukiya — Hokkaido souvenirs

Start here for regional sweets and souvenir browsing. The shop’s own range includes Hokkaido confectionery and character gifts, making it a useful place to compare several small presents.

Find it: Tanukikoji 4-chome, Minami 3-jo Nishi 4-chome 18.

Plan the visit: The store lists 09:30–21:30, with occasional temporary closures. Check expiry dates and storage instructions on food gifts before deciding when to buy them.

moyuk SAPPORO Loft — stationery and small gifts

Choose Loft for stationery, cosmetics, character goods and everyday accessories. It is a useful stop when you want a gift that is easy to pack.

Find it: moyuk SAPPORO 3F, beside Tanukikoji 3-chome.

Plan the visit: Listed hours are 10:00–21:00. Use the current shop page for special events and ranges rather than assuming an online item is stocked here.

MUJI at Sapporo PARCO — clothing and practical purchases

Browse clothing, bags, household goods and food. It is a useful larger-store stop for travel basics, with PARCO’s other shops nearby if fashion is your main aim.

Find it: Sapporo PARCO 5F and 6F, Minami 1-jo Nishi 3-3, toward Odori.

Plan the visit: PARCO lists general shopping hours of 10:00–20:00. Choose the departments you need before riding between floors; restaurant hours are separate.

MEGA Don Quijote Sapporo Tanukikoji Honten — flexible timing

A broad discount-store stop for comparing small purchases and travel supplies. Save it for a later browse if your earlier stops have stricter closing times.

Find it: Minami 3-jo Nishi 4-12-1.

Plan the visit: The official listing says open 24 hours. This is the main store, not the similarly named annex. Ask about the timing of any service counter you need rather than assuming all services run all night.

COCONO SUSUKINO — food shopping before dinner

Browse the lower food floors for something to take back to your hotel, then keep dinner as a separate choice. The complex makes a convenient Susukino end to the shopping route.

Find it: At the Susukino intersection; food shopping is on B1F, with the supermarket on B2F.

Plan the visit: The official floor-hours guide lists both food floors at 10:00–21:00. Upper dining floors have different hours. Keep chilled purchases in your same-day hotel or meal plan.

Pole Town — an underground shopping connection

Use the underground shops to connect parts of an Odori–Susukino outing, browsing clothing, accessories and cafés along the way. It complements the east–west Tanukikoji arcade.

Find it: Between the Odori and Susukino areas beneath the main street.

Plan the visit: General shop hours are 10:00–20:00, with individual exceptions. Shop closing, passage access and locker access are separate questions. Check the entrance and collection route you will actually use.

A manageable afternoon from Odori to Susukino

  1. Start near Odori. Visit PARCO if clothing or everyday goods are the priority.
  2. Browse moyuk and Tanukikoji. Choose Loft and a few arcade shops, then compare gifts at Tanukiya.
  3. Leave space for the purchases. Protect breakable items and keep receipts with what you bought.
  4. Finish toward Susukino. Browse COCONO or Don Quijote if useful, then move on to your Susukino dinner choice.

Tanukikoji runs across several blocks; this is a suggested sequence, not a timed walking promise. Use the shopping association’s current directory to add specialist stores that match your interests.

Purchases that can wait for your final hotel

Imagine finding gifts in Tanukikoji after checkout, with several more stops before your final Tokyo stay. You sign up for Silk Crane, follow the supplied sending instructions and pack the purchases with the luggage you will not need along the way. Send from your hotel front desk or a convenience store, keeping clothing and essentials through shipping.

Arrange delivery to the later hotel in advance, leaving yourself time to unpack and reorganize before flying. You can enjoy the remaining Sapporo shops and dinner without carrying the spare case through every stop.

Pack your Sapporo purchases for storage and later delivery, keeping a smaller bag for the next stops.
Pack the purchases you can set aside and enjoy the next part of Japan with less.

Shopping hours are different from nightlife hours

Do the stores with earlier closing times first. PARCO and Pole Town generally finish shopping at 20:00; Loft and COCONO’s lower food floors list 21:00. Tanukikoji is a street of individual businesses, not a single store with one closing time.

If you plan bars or entertainment after shopping, settle your bags first. Keep today’s food purchases and anything temperature-sensitive with you according to the shop’s instructions. For purchases already held with Silk Crane, use the shopping consolidation guide to plan later dispatch.

Send before checkout or while you are out

Picture setting aside the suitcase you will not need for the next part of the trip. Send it from your hotel front desk before checkout, or from a convenience store while you are out. Sign up for Silk Crane, use the supplied sending instructions and keep your essentials during shipping. Arrange delivery to your later hotel in Japan.

Questions before you go

Should I save all shopping for late at night?

No. The main Don Quijote listing offers late flexibility, but most other shops in this guide close earlier. Start with the stores that matter most to you.

Is the airport a separate shopping opportunity?

Yes. Our New Chitose Airport shopping guide covers airport brands, gifts and departure planning. Keep airport-day food and final purchases in your flight baggage plan.

Keep the spare luggage out of the next part of your trip

Choose Silk Crane’s monthly or annual luggage storage and use the instructions supplied after signup. Send ordinary luggage from your hotel front desk or a convenience store, keep essentials through shipping, and arrange delivery to a later hotel or an airport counter planned for your flight. Shipping is charged separately.

For bags you need back tonight, use our Odori–Susukino local luggage guide and check collection access before dinner. Silk Crane stores luggage sent in for later delivery; it has no walk-in counter in Susukino.
