Susukino Dining Guide: Ramen, Jingisukan, Soup Curry and Seafood
Share
Make room for a good dinner in Susukino, with less to carry between stops. Silk Crane lets you send the spare suitcase from your hotel front desk or a convenience store and arrange later delivery. Monthly and annual storage is available, with shipping charged separately.
Choose your meal first: a charcoal grill, a bowl of soup curry, a seafood evening or ramen. This guide helps you pick the occasion, find the right branch and know what to check before joining a queue.
Four useful starting points for dinner
These are different kinds of meal, rather than a ranking. The price examples below come from the linked official menus; they are not an all-in dinner quote.
Daruma main shop — charcoal-grilled jingisukan
Choose this for a focused mutton-grill meal at a small counter. Daruma’s style is to cook the meat and dip it in sauce; the experience revolves around the grill rather than a long menu of unrelated dishes.
Find it: Minami 5-jo Nishi 4, Crystal Building 1F.
Plan the visit: The main shop lists 17:00–05:00, last orders 04:30, and no reservations. It has 14 counter seats. Budget by the plates, rice and drinks you order, and check the current menu before adding extras. Nearby branches have their own details.
Soup Curry Suage+ — a satisfying lunch or earlier dinner
Try soup curry with vegetables and your chosen main ingredient. The crispy chicken-and-vegetable curry is listed at ¥1,650; soup changes and toppings can add to the bill.
Find it: Minami 4-jo Nishi 5, Toshimatsu Building 2F, opposite the south side of NORBESA.
Plan the visit: No advance seat reservations; the branch lists cash and PayPay, not credit cards. It opens at 11:30 on weekdays and 11:00 on weekends and holidays. Monday and Thursday closing is earlier, and last orders may advance when busy: check the branch page for that day.
Hachikyo main shop — seafood and a shared evening
Choose Hachikyo for a seafood izakaya meal, including its signature tsukko-meshi salmon-roe rice. This fits an evening built around several dishes rather than a single quick bowl.
Find it: Minami 3-jo Nishi 3, Miyako Building 1F.
Plan the visit: The main shop lists 18:00–24:00 Monday–Saturday and 17:00–23:00 Sundays and holidays, with last orders one hour before closing. Its listed otoshi charge is ¥500. Reserve with the specific branch and check current food prices; the operator announced a March 2026 price revision.
Ajiichiban Tsubasa — miso ramen with a clear English menu
The published menu makes a simple meal easy to budget: Ultimate Miso Ramen is ¥1,100, or miso butter-corn ramen is ¥1,400. Choose this when you want the bowl itself to be the main event.
Find it: Shin Ramen Yokocho, No. 3 Green Building, Minami 4-jo Nishi 3-chome 1-1.
Plan the visit: Regular hours are 11:00–03:00, closed Mondays, with holiday exceptions. Its English menu covers dishes and prices. This is Shin Ramen Yokocho; it is separate from Ganso Sapporo Ramen Yokocho.
Two ramen alleys: check which one you mean
Ganso Sapporo Ramen Yokocho has its own collection of small ramen shops. Use its shop directory to choose a broth and check that shop’s hours. Tsubasa above is in Shin Ramen Yokocho, a different location. Save the restaurant’s exact name and pin rather than searching only for “ramen alley.”
If your first choice has a queue, compare nearby menus before committing to the wait. Keep neighboring entrances clear and leave space for people moving through the alley.
Dinner without a suitcase beside the counter
Picture checking out in Sapporo before several more Japan stops. You have a suitcase of clothing and purchases you will not need until your final hotel. Sign up for Silk Crane, follow the sending instructions and hand over the packed case at your hotel front desk or a convenience store. Keep the clothes and essentials you need through shipping.
With later delivery arranged ahead, spend the afternoon exploring and choose dinner without planning a return journey for that case. Anything you need tonight stays in your smaller bag or a separate local holding arrangement.

Reservations, spending and the exact branch
Decide whether the evening needs a fixed dinner time. A reservation suits a meal that anchors the rest of your plans; a walk-in grill or curry shop needs more flexibility. Hachikyo’s booking guidance asks you to telephone the chosen branch several days ahead, with calls after 15:00. Do not treat a third-party request as a confirmed reservation.
For spending, separate the main dish from extras: drinks, rice, additional grill plates and any otoshi or service charge. A ¥1,100 ramen bowl and a seafood dinner with several shared dishes are different budgets. Confirm the total structure when booking a course or ordering a special item.
If you have dietary needs, ask about the broth, sauce and cooking method, not only the dish name. A vegetable curry does not by itself establish a vegan broth.
A convenience-store stop, then a lighter day
Already out with a suitcase you will not need for the next part of the trip? Picture sending it from a convenience store, then carrying on with a small bag. Sign up for Silk Crane, follow the supplied sending instructions, keep your essentials during shipping and arrange delivery to a later hotel in Japan.

Build an evening around one main meal
For an easy first visit, browse Tanukikoji and Odori’s shops, choose one main dinner, then decide whether you want a quiet drink or dessert. Our Susukino nightlife guide covers bars, live jazz, karaoke and an after-dinner parfait stop separately.
Collect any locally stored bag before its access deadline. A restaurant staying open late does not mean your station locker or shopping-building entrance will remain accessible.
Questions before you go
Which choice works for a straightforward meal budget?
Tsubasa publishes an English menu with individual bowl prices. Suage+ also publishes dish and topping prices. Use those menus to choose the meal before adding drinks or extras.
Can I reserve every restaurant in this guide?
No. Daruma’s main shop and Suage+ explicitly say they do not accept advance reservations. Check each named branch rather than assuming one policy applies across the area.
Keep the spare luggage out of the next part of your trip
Choose Silk Crane’s monthly or annual luggage storage and use the instructions supplied after signup. Send ordinary luggage from your hotel front desk or a convenience store, keep essentials through shipping, and arrange delivery to a later hotel or an airport counter planned for your flight. Shipping is charged separately.
For bags you need back tonight, use our Odori–Susukino local luggage guide and check collection access before dinner. Silk Crane stores luggage sent in for later delivery; it has no walk-in counter in Susukino.
