For the bag you need back today, choose a local locker or storage location you can easily return to.
Choose storage for your Sapporo journey
JR Sapporo lockers: start with the current station signs
JR Hokkaido’s locker directory lists Sapporo lockers at ¥400 for small, ¥500 for medium and ¥700 or ¥800 for large compartments. Its general use limit is three days including the starting day, with station-specific exceptions. Check the instructions on the bank you use for charging and collection rules.
The directory says construction can change Sapporo’s locker count. Treat its capacity figures as installation information, not a promise of space. Follow current station signs, note whether your locker is inside or outside the gates, and photograph the bank and nearby landmark.
Subway Sapporo is a different collection point
The subway operator’s Sapporo locker map separates banks around the Namboku and Toho lines. Bank A is south of the Namboku north gates; Bank C is near the Toho south-side station office. Some banks, including A and E, are cashless-only. Choose the bank that suits your return route.
Subway lockers charge in 12-hour periods and permit a maximum continuous stay of 72 hours. Size and price vary by bank. Do not apply these subway rules automatically to JR or shop lockers.
Daimaru lockers for a same-day shopping stop
Daimaru Sapporo lists ordinary lockers at the first-floor southwest entrance toward the Hokkaido Government Office. Small compartments cost ¥300 and measure 42 × 40 × 58 cm; large compartments cost ¥500 and measure 84 × 40 × 58 cm, in height × width × depth.
Use is limited to that day, 10:00–20:00. Payment is by code payment or a contactless credit card; cash is not accepted. These are separate from the refrigerated lockers for store-bought food. Check Daimaru’s locker details and its service guide with locker availability link before your visit.
When the bag must be back with you tonight
Keep the pickup point in the train plan: locker bank, gate side, access deadline and walking time to your platform. Measure the suitcase with wheels and handles included; a size label alone cannot guarantee a fit.
If a suitable locker is unavailable, ask your hotel about holding or check a bookable local storage location. For the difference between local collection and sending into storage, use our Sapporo comparison of Silk Crane and Bounce.
Ten autumn days without the large suitcase
Picture a Sapporo stay followed by ten days around Furano, Biei and Asahikawa. The large case holds purchases and clothes for your later Tokyo stay. After signing up, use your sending instructions and send it from your hotel front desk or a convenience store. Keep the layers and essentials needed during the Hokkaido leg and shipping with you.
Enjoy each stop with a smaller bag, then arrange delivery to your Tokyo hotel in advance. You can unpack there without returning to a Sapporo locker.

Questions before you choose
Can I collect shipped storage the same afternoon?
No. Silk Crane is planned storage with later delivery. Use local holding for belongings needed the same day.
Can my stored suitcase be delivered in Tokyo?
Arrange later delivery to your Tokyo hotel, allowing time for shipping. The delivery guide explains the information needed.
Where should I send skis or a snowboard?
Send packed ski or snowboard equipment from your hotel front desk after your last day using it. Convenience-store sending in this guide is for ordinary luggage, not skis or snowboards.
