Furano & Asahikawa Luggage Storage: A Lighter Hokkaido Journey
Share
More room for Hokkaido’s open spaces. Less luggage between stops.
Silk Crane stores the suitcase, shopping or sports gear you do not need for the next part of your holiday. Send from your hotel front desk or a convenience store before a longer Furano, Biei and Asahikawa journey, or after your ski days finish. Arrange delivery to a later hotel and enjoy the days between with a smaller bag.
Plan luggage storage for your Hokkaido route
Storage is arranged by shipping, with delivery later. If you need the bag back today or the next morning, keep it in local short-stay storage.
Autumn hills, small bags, no collection detour

Picture ten days in central Hokkaido, moving between Asahikawa, Biei and Furano before continuing to Tokyo. Your larger suitcase contains shopping and clothes for the city stay. Send it to Silk Crane before the touring part, keeping your warm layers and everyday essentials in a small bag.
Take in Biei’s patchwork countryside from public viewpoints, settle into a new hotel and make time for a cafe along the way. Arrange delivery of the stored suitcase to your Tokyo hotel in advance. Your route can keep moving forward instead of ending at the locker where it began.
After signing up with Silk Crane, follow your supplied sending instructions. If you are already out with the packed suitcase, you can send it from a convenience store before continuing your central Hokkaido route. Keep the clothes, documents and everyday essentials you need during shipping with you.
Local luggage options for today
JR Hokkaido lists coin lockers at Asahikawa and Furano. They are separate collection points: a suitcase left at one station stays there until you return. Choose around today’s route, checking bag fit, access hours and the current machine’s terms.
The JR Hokkaido locker directory gives listed sizes and charges, which can change. It is not a live vacancy check. For a short outing, agreed hotel holding may also suit your return route.
Think about the whole route, not just the next station
Furano, Biei and Asahikawa are separate stops. Switching between trains, buses, accommodation and sightseeing is simpler when every bag has a purpose. Put aside what you will not need for the touring days, while keeping clothing for Hokkaido’s changing weather close at hand.
Before the countryside
Send the large suitcase from your first hotel and carry what you need for the next part. Plan both shipments before relying on the bag at a later stop.
After the ski days
Finish skiing in Furano, send packed equipment from the hotel, and continue your city or sightseeing holiday without the long bags.
Between Japan visits
Leave ski, snowboard or golf gear in Japan on an annual plan, then arrange delivery for the trip where you will use it again.
Send from your hotel, then carry on with the trip
Choose your storage plan and follow the sending instructions. Your hotel front desk is a handy place to send luggage with Yamato; a nearby convenience store is another starting point for a packed suitcase. If you stay in an apartment without reception, arrange sending from a convenience store or Yamato service center.
The sending form for luggage from your Hokkaido hotel makes the form easier to follow.
Have the bags delivered where you want them next
Choose a later hotel when you want space to unpack, or arrange airport collection when your bags are ready for departure. Tell us the destination and dates in advance so there is time for shipping. At New Chitose, Yamato collection is in the Domestic Terminal on the first floor; follow the counter details supplied for your shipment.

Furano / Asahikawa luggage storage questions
Can I store luggage while traveling between Furano, Biei and Asahikawa?
Silk Crane can store extra luggage during a longer central-Hokkaido itinerary. Send it from your hotel, keep what you need for the touring days, and arrange delivery to a later hotel with time for shipping.
Is there an alternative to returning to a Furano or Asahikawa station locker?
Silk Crane uses shipping to storage and later delivery, so your collection destination can be a different hotel or city. For luggage needed again later the same day, local short-stay storage remains the practical option.
Can I store Furano ski gear while I visit other parts of Japan?
Send the packed skis or snowboard from your Furano hotel to Silk Crane after your last ski day. Request delivery for a later stay or airport departure, or keep the equipment in Japan on an annual plan.
Can luggage stored during a Furano trip be delivered to my Tokyo hotel?
Silk Crane can arrange delivery of your stored luggage to a Tokyo hotel after your Furano trip. Share the hotel and dates in advance, and let the hotel know the bags are coming.
Keep the bags you need. Store the rest.
Monthly plans suit a gap in your travels; annual plans suit belongings you want to keep in Japan for repeat visits. Shipping is charged separately.
