Kyoto Station luggage storage: send your suitcase from the hotel and continue with a smaller bag.

Kyoto Station Luggage Storage: Take Less on Your Next Journey

A smaller bag for Kyoto and the journey beyond. Send the extra luggage from your hotel, then have it delivered where your trip finishes.

Silk Crane lets you leave the larger suitcases out of a longer Japan itinerary. Shipping can start at your hotel near Kyoto Station or a nearby convenience store, so there is no station locker to find and no collection trip back to Kyoto.

Plan luggage storage from Kyoto Station

This is storage arranged by shipping, with later delivery—not a walk-in counter. For bags you need again today or the next morning, keep them in local short-stay storage.

From Kyoto to Hiroshima, with room for the journey

Send your larger suitcase from the hotel and continue beyond Kyoto with a smaller bag.

Picture four nights in Kyoto followed by a week in Hiroshima and western Japan. The large suitcase holds clothing and shopping you will only need at the end. You send it from your Kyoto Station hotel to Silk Crane, keeping a small bag for the next stops.

Now the journey can include a quiet garden, another train and an unhurried evening without the big case. Arrange delivery to your final Osaka hotel, with time to pack before the flight. Kyoto Station does not need to become a luggage collection stop on the way home.

A convenience-store stop, then a lighter day

Already out with a suitcase you will not need for the next part of the trip? Picture sending it from a convenience store, then carrying on with a small bag. Sign up for Silk Crane, follow the supplied sending instructions, keep your essentials during shipping and arrange delivery to a later hotel in Japan.

Find holding on the side that fits your journey

For a suitcase you need back today, Crosta Kyoto provides temporary holding on B1 below the JR conventional-line central gates, on the central or north side of Kyoto Station. Its published holding hours are 8 am–8 pm. Check current charges, acceptance conditions and collection arrangements before leaving your case.

The city’s hands-free travel map also identifies baggage services on the Hachijo side. Read each listing carefully: a delivery desk is not automatically a luggage-holding counter. For coin lockers, choose an available compartment that fits your bag and record its floor, gate side and identifying number.

Allow for collection before reaching the platform

JR conventional trains, the Shinkansen, Kintetsu and the subway have different gates and approaches within the station complex. Save your storage location before leaving for the city. If the case is on the central side and your train departs from the Hachijo side, include the walk through the station in your collection plan.

Choose the sightseeing visit around the bag you need back today. The separate guides to Kiyomizu-dera and Sannenzaka, Nijo Castle, Kinkaku-ji and Ginkaku-ji and the Philosopher’s Path explain their own visitor routes and baggage arrangements.

Let the station be the start of your journey

Kyoto Station brings together rail journeys, hotels and the start of many city visits. If your plans continue to several other places, send the bags you will not need before heading to the platforms. Keep clothing and essentials for the next stretch with you. For an afternoon before hotel check-in, your hotel or local short-stay storage is the simpler fit.

Before the train

Send from your hotel, so luggage storage does not become another station errand.

Through several stops

Keep the big suitcase in storage while you carry what the next part needs.

A different final hotel

Receive the bags in Osaka or another later destination without returning to Kyoto.

Sending is as close as your hotel front desk

Sign up for storage and we send the address and instructions. Your Kyoto Station hotel can help send the packed luggage with Yamato; a nearby convenience store that accepts the shipment is another starting point. If your accommodation has no front desk, use a convenience store that accepts the shipment or a Yamato service center.

When you are ready, the waybill guide for your Kyoto Station shipment walks you through the form.

Choose where you want the luggage next

Have the bags delivered to a later hotel, with time to unpack and finish your flight packing. Or arrange delivery to a Yamato airport pickup counter when everything is packed for departure. Share the destination and dates in advance; we confirm the counter for your airport and terminal.
