Hamamatsucho Station Luggage Storage: JR, Monorail and Daimon
Share
Make Hamamatsucho the start of a lighter journey. With Silk Crane, send the extra suitcase from your hotel front desk or a convenience store, continue through Japan with a smaller bag and arrange delivery to a later hotel. Monthly or annual storage is available, with shipping charged separately.
A Tokyo arrival, then a smaller bag for the next stops
Picture arriving at Haneda, taking the Monorail to Hamamatsucho and spending a few nights nearby. Before continuing to Kyoto and smaller inns, you sign up for Silk Crane and follow the supplied sending instructions. Send the suitcase of extra clothes and shopping from your hotel front desk or a convenience store, keeping everything needed during shipping in a smaller bag.
If you have already checked out, use a convenience store as the sending point before a walk towards Zojoji and Tokyo Tower. Arrange delivery to your final Tokyo hotel, which can be different from the one you left. Your journey does not have to circle back to a Hamamatsucho locker.

A convenience-store stop, then a lighter day
Already out with a suitcase you will not need for the next part of the trip? Picture sending it from a convenience store, then carrying on with a small bag. Sign up for Silk Crane, follow the supplied sending instructions, keep your essentials during shipping and arrange delivery to a later hotel in Japan.

Where to leave luggage around Hamamatsucho today
For a suitcase you need later today, JR East lists coin lockers at Hamamatsucho. Use the current JR station map and signs to find the bank that suits your route. Note the gate side, locker number and collection terms before leaving.
Nearby Daimon provides another option. The Toei locker directory for Daimon identifies these useful differences:
- Outside the gates on B1: the bank near exit A6 includes large compartments; the bank towards A2 lists standard-size compartments.
- Outside the gates on B3: banks near the B4-side elevator and in front of the station office include large compartments.
- Inside the gates on B3: the listed bank has medium and standard compartments, so do not assume it can take a large suitcase.
Measure the whole case, including wheels and handles, and check the actual locker before paying. Published sizes do not guarantee an empty compartment. If your case does not fit, ask your hotel about holding it or check a nearby bookable storage location's opening and collection hours.
Keep JR, Tokyo Monorail and Daimon separate
JR Hamamatsucho serves the Yamanote and Keihin-Tohoku lines. Tokyo Monorail uses its own gates for the Haneda journey. Daimon is the nearby Asakusa and Oedo subway station; a locker there is not inside JR Hamamatsucho or the Monorail station.
The Monorail station is being rebuilt. Its June 13, 2026 changes introduced new north and central gates and closed the former central and south gates. Use the current Monorail map, especially when choosing an elevator route with a suitcase. Older instructions referring to the former south gate can send you the wrong way.
Save a photo of your locker number and the nearest gate sign. If the bag is inside a ticketed area, check how you will regain access. If it is at Daimon, allow time to collect it there before walking to the Monorail. Follow the current terminal signs at Haneda for your flight.
For the airport part of the journey, the Haneda Airport guide covers arrival and luggage arrangements. If your itinerary uses Keikyu through Shinagawa, use our Shinagawa Station guide for that different connection.
For the rail connection, use the separate Shimbashi Station luggage storage guide. It covers the station layout and return to locally stored bags.
Adding a shopping or onsen visit at Terminal 3? The Haneda Airport Garden luggage guide keeps that outing separate from the Monorail connection.
Let the suitcase skip part of the trip
Sign up for your storage plan and follow the supplied sending instructions. Send from your hotel front desk or a convenience store, keeping documents, medicine and everything needed during shipping with you. A Yamato service center is another sending option.
Choose monthly or annual storage to fit your plans. The week-or-longer storage guide explains shorter trips and plan choices. Storage and shipping are separate charges.
Arrange delivery to your later hotel and check that it can receive the case. Plan both shipping journeys before sending, keeping passports, medicine and travel essentials with you. Our hotel and airport delivery guide explains the details. Silk Crane has no walk-in station counter and cannot replace same-day locker collection.
Hamamatsucho luggage storage questions
Can I leave a suitcase at Hamamatsucho Station?
JR East lists coin lockers at Hamamatsucho. Check the current station map, the selected compartment's size and vacancy, and how you will get back to it. Nearby Daimon also has lockers, including large compartments outside the gates.
Are Hamamatsucho and Daimon the same station?
They are neighboring connections with different railway areas. JR and Tokyo Monorail use Hamamatsucho; the Asakusa and Oedo subway lines use Daimon. Record which station, floor and gate side holds your luggage.
Can I visit Tokyo Tower before taking the Monorail to Haneda?
You can plan a separate sightseeing outing, allowing time to return for any locally stored bag and reach your airport train. Our Tokyo Tower and Zojoji guide covers the visit and local baggage arrangements.
Can Silk Crane send my stored suitcase to a different Tokyo hotel?
Yes. Arrange the destination and delivery date in advance, and check that the later hotel can receive the shipment. You do not need to return to the hotel where you sent it. Shipping is charged separately.
Is Silk Crane suitable for a few hours before my flight?
Keep a bag needed that day in local holding with a workable collection route. Silk Crane receives shipped luggage for storage and later delivery, so sending a case into storage does not solve an immediate gap before a flight.
