A full zoo day without the shopping case
Imagine setting aside a full day for Zoorasia before continuing around Japan. Your large shopping case has little use on a zoo path, but you will want it at the final hotel. Send it from your hotel into Silk Crane storage and keep the next few days’ essentials with you.
You can explore with water, a camera and a light layer in your daypack. Arrange delivery of the stored case to the later hotel, allowing shipping time, while keeping today’s route focused on the habitats rather than suitcase collection.
Choose the main gate for the larger compartments
The zoo’s locker guide lists extra-large, large, medium and small lockers at the main gate. The extra-large compartment is 34 cm wide, 57 cm deep and 103 cm high; the large is 34 cm wide, 48 cm deep and 77 cm high.
The north gate has medium and small lockers only, and the zoo FAQ makes their availability dependent on that gate being open. A tall compartment can still be too narrow for a wide suitcase, so measure the whole case before relying on it.
Plan the gate and collection before the walk
Use the Zoorasia access guide and the current zoo map before setting off. If you store a bag at the main gate, plan to return there even when your walk ends near another exit.
Keep water, medicine and clothing needed for the weather with you. Check the day’s operating calendar before travelling, and leave enough time to collect before the gate closes. For a case you will need only at a later hotel, arranging shipment beforehand removes this collection step.
Send the extra case and arrange its return
Book your storage plan and follow the sending instructions. Ask your hotel front desk to help arrange the shipment, or use a convenience store that accepts it or a Yamato service center. Keep documents, medicine and everything needed during shipping with you.

Does the north gate have large lockers?
