Yufuin Luggage Storage: Enjoy the Onsen Town with a Smaller Bag
Share
Enjoy Yufuin’s little shops, mountain views and unhurried inn stay with fewer bags to move. With Silk Crane, send the extra suitcase from your hotel into storage and arrange delivery to a later hotel. Keep a smaller bag for this part of Kyushu, leaving more room in the day for a stroll and a meal instead of moving luggage between stops.
An onsen stay between Kyushu cities
Picture reaching Yufuin after several nights in larger cities. You have sent shopping and clothes you will not need from your previous hotel to Silk Crane, arranging delivery after your onsen stay. Your overnight bag has what you need for the inn.
Once that bag is settled, you can walk through town with a small day bag, browse a shop and pause for a view of Mount Yufu. The next train journey will have fewer bags to manage too.

Where to leave luggage during a Yufuin visit
The official Yufuin Cheque service page lists temporary holding and lockers at the tourist information centre, with collection during its opening period. For a bag needed again today, decide on the return time before walking away. Our Yufuin Station luggage guide focuses on the arrival details.
If your outing naturally begins and ends at your inn, ask about holding there before check-in or after checkout. The most convenient place depends on where you are going next: the station, your room or another town.
Keep local hotel delivery separate from storage
Yufuin Cheque also offers local delivery to inns affiliated with the tourism association. Confirm your named inn and the acceptance cutoff before leaving the bag. That can help with arrival day, but it is different from storing belongings for a later part of Japan.
Silk Crane suits the spare case that you do not want to carry through the onsen stay and subsequent stops. Send it from your hotel before this journey, keep the overnight essentials with you and arrange delivery where you want the larger case again.
Leave space for Yufuin’s smaller stops
For a focused outing, use our Yunotsubo Kaido and Lake Kinrin guide. The Oita tourism guide to Lake Kinrin helps you choose the far end of the route. Leave room for browsing and pauses rather than timing the visit as one uninterrupted walk.
If your Kyushu trip continues through Beppu or Oita city, pack enough for those stops before sending the unused case. Yufuin has its own station and town layout; a bag left in another city still needs a collection or delivery plan.
Keep the ropeway visit separate from the town walk
If you want a mountain-view outing during the Beppu–Yufuin part of the trip, the Beppu Ropeway and Mount Tsurumi guide covers the ride and bus connections. The ropeway climbs Mount Tsurumi, not Mount Yufu.
A bag left at Yufuin Cheque needs collection in Yufuin during its published 9:00–17:00 holding period. If you continue directly to Beppu after the ropeway, arrange that bag around the onward journey before leaving town. Keep the extra case sent to Silk Crane out of these local collection stops.
Send the spare suitcase and plan its return
Book storage, follow the sending instructions and ask your hotel front desk to help arrange the shipment. Keep medicine, documents and the belongings you need during shipping with you. Confirm that your later hotel can receive the case, then plan your storage and delivery dates.
Silk Crane receives shipped belongings for monthly or annual storage and later delivery. Shipping is charged separately; the storage and shipping cost guide explains the distinction. Arrange delivery in advance rather than expecting immediate collection at the station or attraction.
