Shibuya Luggage Storage Compared: Four Options for Shopping and Travel
Share
Choose whether your Shibuya suitcase needs to be nearby—or can wait for you later.
With Silk Crane, send packed luggage and shopping from your hotel front desk or a convenience store, travel with a smaller bag and arrange delivery to a later stop. Monthly and annual storage plans are available, with shipping charged separately.
For a shopping afternoon followed by collection today, Shibuya also has lockers and baggage counters. These four options solve different problems: a box close to your train, counter help during an outing, or storage that lets the luggage skip the next stage of Japan.

Shibuya shopping, then Kyoto with small bags

Picture two friends finishing a Tokyo shopping stay before several stops around Japan. Their extra suitcase and packed purchases are useful for the journey home, but not for every hotel change. They sign up for Silk Crane and follow the supplied instructions to send both from their hotel front desk, keeping the things they need during shipping.
They continue to Kyoto with small bags and enjoy browsing its streets without the spare suitcase. Delivery to their final Tokyo hotel is arranged ahead of time. If they were simply shopping in Shibuya until dinner, a local counter would solve the shorter problem instead.
A convenience-store stop, then a lighter day
Already out with a suitcase you will not need for the next part of the trip? Picture sending it from a convenience store, then carrying on with a small bag. Sign up for Silk Crane, follow the supplied sending instructions, keep your essentials during shipping and arrange delivery to a later hotel in Japan.

1. Silk Crane: storage with delivery to a later stop
Choose it when the suitcase can skip part of your trip. Send from your hotel front desk or a convenience store, keep a smaller travel bag and arrange delivery when you need the stored luggage again. There is no visit to a Silk Crane warehouse and no return journey to collect from a station locker.
Cost: monthly or annual storage, with shipping charged separately. Use the current storage plans and include sending and return-delivery costs in your comparison. Silk Crane is not a walk-in counter at Shibuya, and it does not provide immediate retrieval or same-day local holding.
Sign up before sending and use the supplied address and instructions. Keep documents, medicine and the belongings you need during shipping with you. Arrange the delivery date and destination ahead of time; the hotel and airport delivery guide explains the choices.
2. Tokyu-area lockers: a local bag that fits the box
Where: the official Shibuya locker map identifies banks by SHIBUYA109 on B1, near the A4 exit stairs on B2, and by Hikarie on B3. These are different locations; save the bank and floor rather than “Shibuya Station.”
Tokyu’s published sizes, rates and rules give basic prices of ¥300 slim, ¥500 small, ¥600 large and ¥900 extra-large. Some lockers use seasonal variable pricing, so the displayed charge wins. Slim lockers are not suitcase storage.
General rules state first-to-last-train access, an extra charge after 2:00 a.m. and a maximum of three days in principle. Check your bank’s rules, including any MultiEcube terms. Payment methods differ; several listed banks do not accept cash.
3. WANDER COMPASS: counter help near SHIBUYA109
Where: the station’s B1 underground passage near Exit A2, 2-1-1 Dogenzaka. The operator’s current website lists ¥900 per item per day, 10:00–19:00 daily, and multi-day storage.
This is a useful comparison for a bag awkward to fit in a locker. Arrange the actual collection deadline and dates with the counter, especially for overnight storage.
Walking route from the Hachiko statue: about 180 m / 3 minutes to the mapped location. The counter is underground; use the operator’s access instructions for the entrance and elevator rather than treating the street pin as the counter itself.
4. shibuya-san: local holding on the Fukuras side
Where: Shibuya Fukuras 1F, 1-2-3 Dogenzaka, by the airport-bus stop. The official luggage-storage information lists 10:00–19:30 luggage service, with ¥1,000 standard / ¥2,000 oversized charges. Items over 130 cm high use the oversized rate.
It suits a local outing when you will return to this side of Shibuya. Space can fill, and the center’s 20:00 closing time is later than its luggage-service hours.
Walking route from the Hachiko statue to shibuya-san: about 280 m / 4 minutes. Confirm the stop for your specific bus; an airport-bus stop beside the counter does not mean every airport service departs here.
Two sending points near Shibuya
Your hotel front desk may save a walk altogether. Already out with your suitcase? Yamato lists these convenience stores as accepting shipments. Both list 24-hour opening, but carrier collection has its own cutoff. These are sending points, not Silk Crane storage branches.
Google walking estimates checked October 5, 2026, from the Hachiko statue in the station plaza. They exclude platform walking, queues and the shipping handoff. Allow extra time with luggage; these are checked routes, not a claim that these are the closest stores.
7-Eleven Shibuya Station West
1-3-11 Dogenzaka
230 m / about 4 minutes from the starting point above.
7-Eleven Shibuya Station East Exit
3-19-1 Shibuya
450 m / about 9 minutes from the starting point above.
These stores do not accept Size 180 or 200 parcels. For larger luggage, use Yamato’s branch finder to check a counter before heading there. The waybill guide explains how to address your shipment.
Questions before choosing
Which choice is best for shopping purchases?
For purchases you want back today, compare local holding with the bag size and collection time in mind. For packed purchases that can wait until the end of your trip, Silk Crane can store them and arrange later delivery; shipping is separate. See how sending shopping to storage works.
Are these storage services inside Shibuya Sky?
No. These are station-area storage choices. If you are visiting the observation deck, plan your belongings before going up and check our Shibuya Sky luggage guide.
Can a cheap locker become expensive overnight?
The charging period matters. Tokyu’s general rules add another charge after 2:00 a.m.; check the exact bank’s terms. Compare the total for your stay rather than assuming the displayed starting price buys 24 hours.
Keep the next part of Japan simple
For luggage that can wait, choose Silk Crane storage and arrange delivery to a later stop. Send from your hotel front desk or a convenience store; shipping is charged separately.
