Choose storage for your Sendai trip
A hilltop view without the spare suitcase
Picture a Sendai stay before a few short Tohoku stops. Your large suitcase contains belongings for later in Japan, so you send it from the hotel to Silk Crane and arrange its delivery ahead of the date you need it.
With a small bag, you can enjoy Aobayama’s castle site and views across the city. You choose the return route for the afternoon ahead, without a suitcase coming along for every slope and stop.

Choose holding before reaching the castle site
The confirmed nearby subway option is International Center Station luggage storage. Sendai’s transport bureau lists lockers at every subway station, but you still need to check the bank’s size, availability and access.
If you plan to return by bus to central Sendai, compare leaving the bag at your hotel or main departure station. Do not rely on finding a full-size luggage counter at the hilltop. A case left at International Center still needs to be collected there.
The museum area and main enclosure are different stops
The city’s castle access guidance gives about twenty minutes on foot from International Center Station to the main enclosure, while its museum-area approach is shorter. Allow time for slopes, breaks and your own pace rather than using the subway arrival as the start of an immediate hilltop visit.
The same city guide links the sightseeing-bus route for visitors who prefer a different approach. Check current services and notices before travelling. Once you have chosen the route, work backward from any train departure or bag-collection deadline so the view does not become a hurried stop.
Send the extra case and arrange its return
Book your storage plan and follow the sending instructions. Ask your hotel front desk to help arrange the shipment, or use a convenience store that accepts it or a Yamato service center. Keep documents, medicine and everything needed during shipping with you.
Silk Crane receives shipped belongings for monthly or annual storage and later delivery. Shipping is charged separately. Before sending, confirm that your later hotel can receive the case and plan your luggage delivery dates around Sendai. The storage and shipping cost guide explains the separate charges.
Questions before you go
Is International Center Station at the hilltop?
No. The city lists about twenty minutes on foot to the main enclosure. The lower museum area is a separate part of the visit.
Is there a confirmed subway locker option?
Yes. Sendai Subway confirms lockers at its stations, including International Center. Check the individual bank for current conditions.
Can I return by sightseeing bus after using that locker?
You can, but you must still include collection at International Center in your route. Hotel or main-station holding may suit a different endpoint better.
What stays with me when I send a case to Silk Crane?
Keep documents, medicine and the clothes and essentials needed during shipping and your smaller-bag journey. Arrange the stored case’s later delivery in advance.
