Choose storage for your Sakai trip
An afternoon for Sakai’s craft displays
Picture a Sakai afternoon during a longer Kansai trip. Your spare suitcase contains clothing for a later stay, while your small shoulder bag holds the essentials for the coming days. Send the case from your hotel to Silk Crane before setting out.
At Denshokan, browse the craft displays and shop without wheeling the suitcase between them. Continue to the next part of the trip with your smaller bag, arranging delivery of the stored case to a later hotel in advance.

Choose holding before you reach Denshokan
For a suitcase needed again today, Nankai Sakai Station’s luggage options provide a starting point, or ask your own hotel about holding around your stay. The museum’s published visitor information does not establish a large-suitcase storage service. If you want to leave a bag there, ask directly before relying on it.
Choose the collection point around your onward journey. A case at Sakai Station requires a return to that station; a visit ending near a tram stop does not move the luggage for you. Keep any receipt and collection deadline with you.
One venue for the shop, craft exhibitions and CUT
The official floor guide places the shop on the first floor and the traditional-craft exhibition and CUT knife museum on the second. Demonstrations and experience events have their own programme; the venue notes that events can make the exhibition space unavailable.
The Denshokan access guide gives about three minutes on foot from Myokokuji-mae tram stop or fifteen from Nankai Sakai. The listed regular opening is 10:00–17:00, with the third Tuesday closed; check current notices before travelling.
Keep purchases safely packed for the rest of the day. Ask the shop about packing and any delivery service for the specific item you buy. A museum shop purchase does not automatically establish storage or shipping arrangements for that item.
Send the extra case and arrange its return
Book your storage plan and follow the sending instructions. Ask your hotel front desk to help arrange the shipment, or use a convenience store that accepts it or a Yamato service center. Keep documents, medicine and everything needed during shipping with you.
Silk Crane receives shipped belongings for monthly or annual storage and later delivery. Shipping is charged separately. Before sending, confirm that your later hotel can receive the case and plan your luggage delivery dates around Sakai. The storage and shipping cost guide explains the separate charges.
