Miyajimaguchi ferry connection: a couple leave a suitcase with hotel staff, then approach a ferry terminal with small bags.

Miyajimaguchi Station Luggage Storage: Before the Ferry

Start the Miyajima crossing with the bag you actually need. With Silk Crane’s monthly and annual storage, send extra luggage from your hotel front desk or a convenience store and arrange delivery to a later stop. Keep the larger case out of the ferry connection and the days beyond it; shipping is charged separately.

Choose storage for your Miyajimaguchi trip

Picture a ferry day with a smaller bag

Imagine traveling from Hiroshima to Miyajima before spending more time in western Japan. Your extra suitcase contains shopping you will next use at your final hotel. Sign up with Silk Crane and use the supplied instructions to send the packed suitcase from your Hiroshima hotel front desk or a convenience store before leaving. Keep clothes, documents, medicine and any island overnight essentials with you during shipping.

You can then connect through Miyajimaguchi with a small bag and enjoy the crossing without moving a large case between train and ferry. Request delivery to the later hotel in advance. For a same-day visit with a suitcase needed that evening, a mainland locker may suit your return route.

Send the extra case ahead of your island visit and enjoy an easier ferry connection.

Find the mainland luggage option before you cross

The Miyajima Tourism Association locker guide identifies lockers at JR Miyajimaguchi Station and at the mainland ferry terminal. At the JR station, turn left after the ticket gate for the holding counter, with lockers farther inside.

The association also identifies Yamato’s Nekonote Station counter there. Check the counter’s current acceptance, price and collection deadline on arrival; its hours are separate from the train and ferry timetables. Check locker size and instructions before paying.

JR Miyajimaguchi Station, Hiroden-miyajima-guchi tram station and the ferry terminal are distinct points. Pick the storage location you can return to after the ferry, and save its exact name and locker number.

A mainland locker stays on the mainland

Follow the JR Miyajima Ferry access guide for the station-to-ferry connection, including its accessible-route information. Allow time for the walk and boarding, especially when carrying a bag.

If you stay on Miyajima, ask your island hotel about holding and arrival arrangements. Leaving the only overnight bag on the mainland creates an extra crossing to collect it. Our Miyajima overview compares the journeys.

On the return, collect your case before continuing by train or tram. Leave room for ferry queues or disruption; the last train does not extend a luggage counter’s collection hours.

Bring island purchases back into the collection plan

For Omotesando browsing and the island visit itself, use the Miyajima luggage and shopping guide. A mainland locker will not be available while you shop across the water. Keep space in a small bag for purchases and allow time for the return ferry before collecting your suitcase.

When the shopping can wait until later in Japan, you can send a separately packed shopping parcel to Silk Crane using your account’s sending instructions. Arrange packing and shipment as part of the wider trip; the ferry connection does not provide instant storage delivery.

Send the extra case and arrange its return

Book your storage plan and follow the sending instructions. Ask your hotel front desk to help arrange the shipment, or use a convenience store or a Yamato service center. Keep documents, medicine and everything needed during shipping with you.

Silk Crane receives shipped belongings for monthly or annual storage and later delivery. Shipping is charged separately. Before sending, confirm that your later hotel can receive the case and plan your luggage delivery dates around Miyajimaguchi. The storage and shipping cost guide explains the separate charges.
