Hondori and Okonomimura Luggage Storage: Shop and Eat Light
Share
Make space for Hiroshima’s shops and a seat at an okonomiyaki counter. Silk Crane lets you send extra luggage from your hotel front desk or a convenience store into monthly or annual storage, then arrange delivery to a later hotel. Keep a smaller bag for Hondori and Okonomimura; shipping is charged separately.
Choose storage for your Hiroshima trip
Picture a food stop between longer stays
Imagine checking out after several days in Hiroshima, with a suitcase of shopping you will not need while traveling onward. Sign up with Silk Crane and follow the supplied instructions to send the packed case from your hotel front desk. Keep your next few days’ clothes, documents and medicine in a small travel bag.
Now you can browse Hondori and settle at an okonomiyaki counter without bringing the extra case into the restaurant. If you are already out with the packed suitcase, a convenience store gives you another sending point before continuing your outing. Arrange its delivery to a later hotel ahead of time. If all your luggage is needed tonight, ask the hotel to hold it during lunch and return for collection.

Leave the suitcase near the end of your outing
If you are returning to your hotel, start with its luggage-holding arrangements. For onward rail travel, the Hiroshima Station guide helps keep collection near your train.
For a local connection, use the Hondori Station guide. If your onward bus leaves from Hiroshima Bus Center, its terminal storage guide covers a different collection point.
Arrange bulky luggage before entering a restaurant. Space around counter seats is shared with other diners, and a food purchase does not include a suitcase-storage service. Keep your small bag close and follow the restaurant’s seating instructions.
Give the arcade and lunch their own time
Use the Hondori shopping-street website to choose shops, then make Okonomimura in Shintenchi a specific food stop. The shopping street, Hondori Station and the restaurant building are different places.
Okonomimura contains individual restaurants with their own opening days and hours. Use the official Hiroshima tourism listing for location and contact details, then check the hours of the restaurant you want to visit. Allow room for a queue and time to eat before luggage collection.
For a day that also includes Peace Memorial Park, leave an unhurried interval between the museum and the food stop. Shopping, lunch and reflection need not be squeezed between a train arrival and an early counter closure.
Enjoy the shops without carrying every purchase onward
Browse Hondori and the shops toward Hatchobori with room in your day for a proper lunch. For a covered shopping stop around Kamiyacho, Shareo has its own shops and luggage lockers. It is a separate facility from the Astram station and the bus center, so save the exact locker location rather than just “Hondori.”
The Shareo service guide lists several locker banks, with different charging arrangements. In particular, the bank west of staircase West 7 charges by five-hour periods. Check the selected bank’s access and collection deadline before shopping; one bank’s price is not the rule for the whole underground mall.
For a longer Japan trip, send packed clothes and purchases you can leave out of the next stops to Silk Crane. You can send shopping separately from your suitcase using your account’s sending details, or ask about combining purchases with stored luggage. Keep food, liquids and valuables out of storage parcels; enjoy food purchases during your visit.
Send the extra case and arrange its return
Book your storage plan and follow the sending instructions. Ask your hotel front desk to help arrange the shipment, or use a convenience store or a Yamato service center. Keep documents, medicine and everything needed during shipping with you.
Silk Crane receives shipped belongings for monthly or annual storage and later delivery. Shipping is charged separately. Before sending, confirm that your later hotel can receive the case and plan your luggage delivery dates around Hiroshima. The storage and shipping cost guide explains the separate charges.
