Hakuba Shopping With Less Luggage: Outdoor Gear and Souvenirs
Share
Browse Hakuba’s outdoor shops, choose something for the next mountain day and leave room for a café stop. Silk Crane helps keep the spare suitcase and packed purchases out of your onward journey. Send from your hotel front desk or a convenience store, continue with what you need and arrange delivery when you want the rest back.
Monthly and annual storage is available, with shipping charged separately.
A new jacket without another bag for every train
Imagine finding outdoor clothing and souvenirs during a Hakuba stay, with several Japanese cities still ahead. You sign up for Silk Crane, pack the items you will not need yet and send them from your hotel using the supplied instructions. Keep your mountain layers and daily essentials through shipping. The afternoon remains about browsing and coffee, and you arrange delivery of the stored purchases to a later hotel.

Set aside the belongings you will need later
Choose your Silk Crane storage plan and follow the sending instructions supplied with your account. Send the belongings you can set aside from your hotel front desk or a convenience store. Keep documents, medicine and enough clothing for the next stay and shipping period.
Arrange delivery to the hotel where you will need the stored belongings again, and let the property know they are coming. Shipping is charged separately from monthly or annual storage. For a bag needed again today, use the local holding options below.
Choose the kind of Hakuba shopping you want
Snow Peak Land Station Hakuba brings an outdoor store, café and landscaped gathering space into one visit. It is a shopping and visitor destination; the word “Station” does not mean it is JR Hakuba Station.
Around Happo, the Happo Information Center directory identifies local souvenirs and a Mont-bell room. Rhythm Japan’s retail directory lists Hakuba stores for outdoor clothing, accessories and equipment. Choose the particular shop for the item you want rather than assuming every branch carries the same range.
Resort shops can be part of a mountain day too. Browse near the base when it fits your route, and check seasonal opening before making a special journey. Keep the shopping plan distinct from your luggage collection point.
Decide where today’s suitcase will wait
Ask your accommodation about holding before you set off. If the route passes Happo, the Happo Bus Terminal luggage guide explains the local lockers and collection cutoff. For a rail arrival, use the Hakuba Station guide.
Do not assume that a store, café or tourism information desk will accept a suitcase because you are shopping there. For the extra bag you can do without at subsequent stops, sending it into Silk Crane storage removes a collection journey from the later itinerary.
Buying skis, a snowboard or outdoor clothing
Use the equipment you bought for this holiday before deciding what can go into storage. The hotel front desk is the most convenient handoff for skis and snowboards. For skis and snowboards you want to keep in Japan, the Hakuba ski-storage guide covers packing, hotel or Yamato sending and later hotel delivery. Do not include equipment you still need for tomorrow’s ski lesson.
Clothing and suitable souvenirs can travel as packed purchases. Our shopping-shipment guide explains the next step. Keep food, liquids and valuables out of the parcel; choose a secure box or suitcase instead of sending an open shopping bag.
Bring the purchases back at a useful point
If you already have belongings stored with Silk Crane, use the supplied sending details for each new parcel and discuss which purchases you would like combined. Agree the packing and return plan before requesting shipment; consolidation is not automatic.
The purchase-consolidation guide helps you plan a delivery to the hotel where you will have time to unpack and repack before the next journey.
Already out with a suitcase?
Picture having checked out before a shopping afternoon. You sign up for Silk Crane and send the packed suitcase from a convenience store using your account instructions, keeping the clothes and essentials for the next stay and shipping period. You can continue browsing with a smaller bag and arrange later delivery. The store handoff can happen along your route; it does not require a return to the old hotel.

Plan the next delivery with the next stay
Choose the return date when planning the next part of the holiday. The storage and delivery timing guide explains how to leave time for the shipment. The shipping-cost guide keeps movement charges separate from the storage plan.
Questions before you go
Is Snow Peak Land Station the railway station?
No. It is a separate shopping and visitor destination. Check your route against JR Hakuba Station and Happo Bus Terminal.
Can I send loose shopping bags?
Pack the purchases securely in a suitable box or suitcase and follow the supplied sending instructions.
Can bought skis stay in Japan for next winter?
Yes. Arrange monthly or annual equipment storage, send through your hotel or Yamato and request delivery before the next stay.
