Hakuba Iwatake and Mountain Harbor: Visit With Less Luggage
Share
Take in the Japanese Alps from Hakuba Iwatake with room for the view, a café stop and a small daypack. Silk Crane lets you send the spare suitcase from your hotel front desk or a convenience store and arrange delivery for a later stop. Keep the layers and belongings you need on the mountain; let the rest skip the gondola journey.
Monthly and annual storage is available, with shipping charged separately.
A terrace coffee without a suitcase beside you
Imagine a Hakuba mountain break between Tokyo and Kyoto. Before the Iwatake day, you sign up for Silk Crane and send the extra suitcase from your hotel using the supplied instructions. Keep your outdoor layers and everything needed during shipping. On the terrace, you have a small daypack and time to enjoy the view; the stored case can be delivered to the later hotel after you arrange its return.

Set aside the belongings you will need later
Choose your Silk Crane storage plan and follow the sending instructions supplied with your account. Send the belongings you can set aside from your hotel front desk or a convenience store. Keep documents, medicine and enough clothing for the next stay and shipping period.
Arrange delivery to the hotel where you will need the stored belongings again, and let the property know they are coming. Shipping is charged separately from monthly or annual storage. For a bag needed again today, use the local holding options below.
Arrange suitcase holding before going up
The Iwatake base-center facilities page lists coin lockers beside the shop and changing facilities. Check which facilities are open for your season, the available compartment and the bag’s packed dimensions. The page does not establish a guaranteed space for every suitcase.
For a bag needed again that evening, your hotel may be the easiest holding point if it confirms the arrangement. Avoid carrying a large case up simply to look for storage at the terrace. The luggage plan should be settled before you start the sightseeing portion.
Choose the Iwatake experience for the season
The official Iwatake green-season guide brings together Mountain Harbor, cafés, walking areas and activities. Choose the places you want to enjoy and check their actual operating status; the valley weather alone does not tell you which mountain facilities are open.
Keep a small bag with water, layers and the belongings needed for the outing. If you plan an activity beyond terrace sightseeing, follow that operator’s equipment and participation guidance. In winter, check the winter visitor information instead of using summer access details.
Leave time for the way down
On a checkout day, work back from the onward bus or hotel pickup. Allow for the descent, return to the locker or accommodation, and the transfer to the correct departure point. A final gondola time and a luggage-room closing time are separate limits.
Use the Hakuba Station guide or Happo terminal guide if those are part of the route. Neither is at Mountain Harbor. For a wider stay, the Hakuba luggage guide helps separate the bags you need locally from those you can send into storage.
Already out with a suitcase?
Picture being between hotels with a larger suitcase you can set aside for the next week. After signing up for Silk Crane, use the supplied sending instructions at a convenience store along your route. Keep the overnight bag, mountain layers and essentials needed during shipping. Arrange the stored case’s later hotel delivery, then make the Iwatake visit with only the belongings needed for the day.

Plan the next delivery with the next stay
Choose the return date when planning the next part of the holiday. The storage and delivery timing guide explains how to leave time for the shipment. The shipping-cost guide keeps movement charges separate from the storage plan.
Questions before you go
Does Iwatake list coin lockers?
Yes. The resort’s base-center facilities page lists them. Check the facilities operating in your season and whether an available compartment fits your bag.
Is Mountain Harbor in Hakuba village?
It is part of the mountain resort visit. Plan the resort access and descent rather than treating it as a street-level café stop.
Can I have stored luggage delivered for my next hotel?
Yes. Arrange delivery with Silk Crane in advance, allow for shipping and tell the hotel that your bags are coming.
