Tottori Station luggage storage: hand over your suitcase at the hotel and continue to the station with a small backpack.

Tottori Station Luggage Storage and Lockers

Make your next train from Tottori easier with Silk Crane. Send the extra suitcase from your hotel into storage, carry what you need for the Sanin journey and arrange delivery of the stored bag to a later stop.

One small bag for the westbound train

Imagine finishing a Tottori hotel stay with clothing and purchases you will not use in Matsue or Izumo. Before checking out, you arrange to send that suitcase to Silk Crane. Your compact backpack holds what you need during the next few days.

You can walk to the station, choose something for the train and continue west without planning another locker search on arrival. The stored case can be delivered to a later hotel once you have arranged the dates.

Where to start looking for lockers

Use the official Tottori Station map to locate the coin-locker symbols. Confirm the actual compartment dimensions, accepted payment and retrieval conditions at the locker. Keep the key or access receipt somewhere secure rather than in the bag you are storing.

Choose this route for belongings you will collect in Tottori that day. Check that the collection point is convenient for your departure, particularly if you are returning by bus shortly before a train. If a case does not fit, ask station or visitor-information staff about the current alternatives rather than forcing it into a smaller compartment.

The tourist counter has a specific baggage offer

Tottori City’s baggage-service notice limits free holding to overseas visitors using a Loop Kirinjishi one-day bus pass. The support centre listing gives opening hours of 8:30–17:30 outside the year-end holiday period; confirm the baggage deadline directly.

For visits from June 3 to December 21, 2026, the city tourism office’s temporary-location notice directs visitors to the international support centre under the tracks on the north side. This temporary arrangement may differ from an older station map. Follow the current signs or ask staff for directions.

Keep the spare suitcase out of your Sanin route

Silk Crane is useful when your Tottori Station visit is one part of a longer Japan trip. Send belongings you do not need for this stretch from your hotel or a convenience store that handles luggage shipments. Carry your overnight essentials and arrange delivery of the stored case to a later hotel.

You avoid making each day’s route circle back to a locker. That can make a westbound journey through Tottori, Matsue and Izumo feel much simpler. See Silk Crane’s monthly and annual storage plans; shipping is charged separately. Silk Crane is a shipped-storage service, with no walk-in counter at the station or dunes.

Plan the collection before the sightseeing

If your bag stays at Tottori Station, plan a return journey there. A coastal stop can take longer than expected once you include the bus wait and the walk back from the dunes. Choose an earlier return connection so collection is not squeezed into the final minutes before boarding.

If you will head onward without returning through the same station area, consider whether today’s bag should stay with your accommodation instead. For the suitcase you will not need during Sanin, arranging Silk Crane storage before the trip removes that collection stop entirely.

Send the spare suitcase and plan its return

Book storage, follow the sending instructions and ask your hotel front desk to help arrange the shipment. Keep medicine, documents and the belongings you need during shipping with you. Confirm that your later hotel can receive the case, then plan your storage and delivery dates.

Silk Crane receives shipped belongings for monthly or annual storage and later delivery. Shipping is charged separately; the storage and shipping cost guide explains the distinction. Arrange delivery in advance rather than expecting immediate collection at the station or attraction.

Questions before you go

Are there lockers at Tottori Station?

Yes. They are marked on JR West’s official station map. Check availability and suitcase fit when you arrive.

Is the tourist counter a general left-luggage office?

Its published free baggage offer has a bus-pass and overseas-visitor condition. Do not assume every passenger can use it.

Can Silk Crane store a bag while I visit the dunes for a few hours?

Silk Crane receives shipped belongings for storage and later delivery. Use a local locker or holding service for a bag you need back that afternoon.

Is shipping included in the storage plan?

No. Shipping is charged separately from Silk Crane’s monthly or annual storage plan.
