Tottori Luggage Storage: Enjoy the City and Coast
Share
Enjoy Tottori’s riverside streets and coastal outings with less to carry. With Silk Crane, send your extra suitcase from your hotel into storage, explore Sanin with a smaller bag and arrange delivery when you need it again.
A lighter start to the Sanin coast
Picture arriving in Tottori after a busy week of shopping in Osaka. You have a few coastal days ahead, then another hotel stay farther along your Japan itinerary. Your hotel helps you send the shopping suitcase to Silk Crane, while you keep a small bag for the next stage.
With the spare case on its way to storage, you can stop for lunch, walk beside the Fukuro River and plan a dunes outing without finding a new place for the same suitcase at every stop. Arrange its return to a later hotel with time for delivery.

For a bag you need again today
The JR West Tottori Station map marks coin lockers. Check the locker’s size, payment instructions and collection conditions before leaving for the coast. A locker suits a same-day outing when you will pass through the station again.
The city’s tourist-counter baggage service is for overseas visitors using a Loop Kirinjishi one-day bus ticket. It is not general free storage for every visitor. Ask at the counter before relying on it.
The international visitor support centre lists hours of 8:30–17:30, excluding the year-end holiday period. Confirm collection time when handing over a bag. If you are staying locally, asking your hotel about holding luggage before check-in can also keep the day straightforward.
Keep the spare suitcase out of your Sanin route
Silk Crane is useful when your Tottori visit is one part of a longer Japan trip. Send belongings you do not need for this stretch from your hotel or a convenience store that handles luggage shipments. Carry your overnight essentials and arrange delivery of the stored case to a later hotel.
You avoid making each day’s route circle back to a locker. That can make a westbound journey through Tottori, Matsue and Izumo feel much simpler. See Silk Crane’s monthly and annual storage plans; shipping is charged separately. Silk Crane is a shipped-storage service, with no walk-in counter at the station or dunes.
Let the next stop decide where the bag stays
A city afternoon and a dunes visit have different shapes. For cafés and a walk around central Tottori, a hotel or station collection point may sit naturally on your route. For the dunes, account for the outward journey, time on the sand and the ride back before committing to an evening train.
Use our Tottori Station luggage guide for the arrival details, and our Tottori Sand Dunes guide for coastal sightseeing. The dunes visitor centre identifies nearby lockers, but a listing does not guarantee a compartment large enough for your suitcase.
For onward travel, keep the things you need during the journey in your small bag: tickets, medicine, chargers and a change of clothes. Storage is most useful when you have deliberately set aside belongings you can enjoy this part of Japan without.
Send the spare suitcase and plan its return
Book storage, follow the sending instructions and ask your hotel front desk to help arrange the shipment. Keep medicine, documents and the belongings you need during shipping with you. Confirm that your later hotel can receive the case, then plan your storage and delivery dates.
Silk Crane receives shipped belongings for monthly or annual storage and later delivery. Shipping is charged separately; the storage and shipping cost guide explains the distinction. Arrange delivery in advance rather than expecting immediate collection at the station or attraction.
Questions before you go
Does Silk Crane have a Tottori shop?
No. Send luggage into Silk Crane storage and arrange later delivery. There is no local walk-in collection point.
Can everyone use the tourist office’s free baggage service?
No. The published service is limited to overseas visitors using the specified bus day pass. Check the conditions with the counter.
Should I take my suitcase to the dunes?
Leaving it before the coastal outing makes walking easier. Choose station storage if returning there, or check the listed facilities near the dunes.
Can I arrange to receive my suitcase later in Japan?
Yes. Plan delivery to your later accommodation in advance and confirm the hotel can receive it. Shipping is charged separately.
