Tokyo Luggage Storage Between Hotel Stays
Share
Your first Tokyo hotel does not have to become a luggage collection stop at the end of the trip. With Silk Crane, send the spare suitcase from your hotel front desk or a convenience store, enjoy the days between stays with a smaller bag, then arrange delivery to the hotel you choose for your return.
Silk Crane offers monthly and annual storage; shipping is charged separately.
Choose your luggage storage plan
Shinjuku first, Kyoto in the middle, Ginza at the end

Imagine beginning in Shinjuku, spending a week in Kyoto and Kanazawa, then returning to Tokyo for a final Ginza stay. The larger suitcase contains clothes you will not need for those middle stops. Leaving it at the first hotel would mean returning across Tokyo just to collect it.
Open your Silk Crane account and follow the supplied sending instructions. Pack what can wait, then send from your hotel front desk or a convenience store. Keep your documents, medicine and the clothes needed for the intervening days and shipping with you.
Arrange delivery to the Ginza hotel ahead of the final stay. Your first evening back can be dinner near the new hotel instead of a detour to the old one.
Send from your hotel before heading out
Prefer to send before checking out? Imagine leaving the extra suitcase with your hotel front desk for shipping and setting off with a small bag. Sign up for Silk Crane, use the supplied instructions, keep what you need during shipping and arrange delivery to a later hotel in Japan.

A few hours between hotels or several days away?
For a same-day hotel change, ask the first or next hotel about baggage holding. Confirm who will accept the bags, collection hours and any charge. Do not assume a hotel will keep luggage for a week after checkout, even if you stayed there before.
Silk Crane suits the gap when the suitcase can wait while you travel elsewhere. Shipping into storage and later delivery need time; this is not an instant transfer between two Tokyo hotels. For a bag needed at the next stop without a storage interval, ask about direct forwarding.
The Tokyo locker and storage comparison helps with the same-day choices.
Give the suitcase a destination that fits your return
Choose the hotel for the trip you want, whether that is Ginza, Ueno, Shibuya or a later stop outside Tokyo. Delivery does not require a return to the original sending neighborhood.
Tell Silk Crane the receiving hotel, the reservation name and the date you need the luggage. Check that the hotel can receive it for your stay. If your booking changes, contact us before the shipment is arranged so the destination can be reviewed.
Use the hotel and airport delivery guide for the practical arrangements. For a flight home, allow time at the hotel to unpack and organize your suitcase.
Budget for storage and the two journeys
Compare the storage plan with the separate shipping estimates. Count the bags you are sending and both shipping movements. The benefit is avoiding repeated carrying and a collection detour; it is not a promise that every itinerary costs less than hotel holding.
For a longer gap between stays, the long-term Tokyo storage guide covers duration choices.
Questions before you send your bags
Can the second hotel be in a different Tokyo neighborhood?
Yes. Arrange delivery to the hotel where you will stay later, with the correct destination and date. It need not be near the sending point.
Can I send after I have checked out?
Yes. Sign up, use the supplied instructions and send from a convenience store. Keep everything needed during shipping with you.
What if I return to the same hotel?
Ask that hotel about its own holding arrangement first. Silk Crane remains an option when you want planned storage with later delivery; compare the full costs and timing.
Can the receiving hotel be outside Tokyo?
Yes. Arrange domestic delivery to the later hotel in Japan that fits your route, allowing shipping time.
Make the next part of the trip easier
Let your suitcase skip the middle of the holiday. Return to the neighborhood you want to stay in and arrange the luggage around that choice.
