Shizuoka Station Luggage Storage and Lockers: Plan Your Departure
Share
Make the next train from Shizuoka easier by sending the suitcase you will not need on this part of Japan. Silk Crane’s monthly and annual storage lets you send it from your hotel front desk or a convenience store, travel with a smaller bag and arrange delivery to a later stop. You can leave the extra packing in storage while the trip continues. Shipping is charged separately.
For same-day collection, the ASTY Shizuoka floor guide lists coin lockers in the south-exit-side passage of the west building, the south-exit-side passage of the east building, and in front of the east building’s Chance Center lottery shop. Use those landmarks and current signs to find the bank that suits your route.
An easier departure after your Shizuoka stay
Picture checking out after two nights in Shizuoka. You have a backpack for the next stretch, but the larger case holds shopping and clothes for later. Arrange to send that case from your hotel to Silk Crane before heading to the station.
Walk toward the train gates with the backpack, with room to buy lunch and find your platform. You do not need a locker collection detour for the stored case. Schedule its delivery to a later hotel, leaving time for shipping.

After signing up with Silk Crane, follow your supplied sending instructions. If you are already out with the packed suitcase, you can send it from a convenience store before continuing your departure from Shizuoka.
Use the building and exit names together
ASTY’s west and east buildings are useful orientation points, while “south-exit side” describes the passages named in the facility list. Save the current floor guide and photograph your actual locker bank. A general station meeting point may not be enough to find the same machine later.
Check whether the chosen bank is accessible from the side of the gates you will use at collection. Leave time for the walk back, retrieving the suitcase and reaching your train. A storage stop should fit the onward route as well as the start of your outing.
Read the machine before paying
Check the compartment against the whole bag, including wheels and handles. The posted price, payment options, charging boundary and maximum storage period apply to that machine. The facility page identifies locations; it does not promise vacancies or one price for every suitcase.
Check the locker’s access hours separately from restaurant, shop and train times. Keep the key or digital receipt safe, and take your passport, medicine, tickets and other immediate essentials before locking the door.
Leave the station with a clear return plan
Our Shizuoka city luggage guide gives ideas for the rest of the stay. For moats and garden paths, use the separate Sumpu Castle Park guide. A bag left in a station locker still needs to be collected from that bank.
JR Shizuoka and Shizuoka Railway’s Shin-Shizuoka are separate stations. If your itinerary changes stations, think through the collection journey before paying for a locker. Do not assume a locker at one station can be opened or collected at another.
Send the spare suitcase and plan its return
Book storage, follow the sending instructions and ask your hotel front desk to help arrange the shipment. Keep your medicine, documents and the belongings you need during shipping with you. Confirm that your later hotel can receive the case, then plan your storage and delivery dates.
Silk Crane receives shipped belongings for monthly or annual storage and later delivery. Shipping is charged separately, as explained in the storage and shipping cost guide. This is not an on-site walk-in counter or immediate bag collection service.
Questions before you go
Where are the lockers at Shizuoka Station?
ASTY lists three areas: the west building’s south-exit-side passage, the east building’s south-exit-side passage and in front of the east building’s Chance Center. Follow current signs to the specific bank.
Are all Shizuoka Station lockers open 24 hours?
Do not assume so. Check access hours at your chosen locker; station and shop opening times are not a universal locker schedule.
Is Shin-Shizuoka the same station?
No. It is a separate station operated by Shizuoka Railway. Allow for that difference when planning luggage collection and transfers.
Can Silk Crane deliver the case to my next hotel?
Yes, by prior arrangement with time allowed for shipping. It is a later-delivery service, not immediate collection at the station.
