Leave the extra case out of an art-filled afternoon

Imagine checking out in Roppongi before an art visit and several nights elsewhere in Japan. You sign up for Silk Crane and follow the supplied sending instructions. Send the spare suitcase from your hotel front desk, keeping the clothes, documents and essentials needed during shipping in a smaller bag, and arrange delivery to your final hotel.

If you are already out with the packed case, use a convenience store as the sending point. With the suitcase on its way to storage, you can make the next subway connection and enjoy the afternoon without fitting a return trip to the same locker around dinner.

Where to find Roppongi Station luggage lockers

For a bag needed again today, Roppongi has lockers in both railway areas. Choose the bank around your return route, then save the line and nearest exit before leaving the suitcase.

The Tokyo Metro Roppongi facilities guide lists lockers around the Hibiya Line and Tokyo Metlocker PLUS near Exit 3. Metlocker PLUS has reservation and hotel-delivery features with their own terms; check those separately from ordinary locker holding.

The Toei Oedo Line locker directory identifies two useful B1 locations outside the gates:

  • Towards the Hibiya Line, Roppongi crossing and Roppongi Hills: a bank with large, medium and standard compartments.
  • Near the Tokyo Midtown connection, beside the elevator: another bank with large, medium and standard compartments.

Toei lists large compartments as 85.6 cm high, 34.2 cm wide and 66.3 cm deep. Compare those dimensions with the whole case, including wheels and handles. Check the actual bank's vacancy, price and collection instructions before paying.

If the suitcase does not fit, agreed hotel holding or a bookable nearby storage location may suit today's plans. Check its address and collection hours before committing. A museum's cloakroom or lockers have separate rules; station storage information does not establish what you can take into an exhibition.

Roppongi and Roppongi-itchome are different stations

Roppongi Station serves the Hibiya and Oedo lines. Roppongi-itchome serves the Namboku Line at a separate station. Saving only “Roppongi” in a storage note can send you back to the wrong place.

For a locker at Roppongi, record the railway, floor, gate side, nearest exit and locker number. A photo of the nearby sign helps. If a chosen bank is inside a ticketed area, check how you will regain access before starting the rest of your day.

Keep the destination separate too: Roppongi Hills, Tokyo Midtown and Azabudai Hills are different places. For museums, dining and a longer neighbourhood stay, use the Roppongi visitor guide.

For teamLab Borderless, the Azabudai Hills and Borderless guide covers its own baggage rules and approaches via Kamiyacho or Roppongi-itchome. Do not assume a case left at Roppongi Station will be beside the museum entrance.

Store the suitcase while the journey continues

Sign up for Silk Crane and use the supplied sending instructions to send from your hotel front desk or a convenience store. Keep what you need during shipping in your smaller bag. Arrange delivery to a later hotel that can receive the case, without returning to Roppongi just to collect it.

Monthly and annual plans can cover belongings left behind while you travel elsewhere in Japan. The week-or-longer storage guide explains how shorter itineraries fit the plans. Shipping to storage and later delivery are charged separately.

Allow time for both shipping journeys and agree delivery dates before sending. Our hotel and airport delivery guide covers the next step. Keep luggage needed tonight in local holding; Silk Crane receives shipped belongings for storage and later delivery.

Roppongi Station luggage storage questions

Does Roppongi Station have lockers for a large suitcase?

Toei lists large compartments at both of its B1 banks outside the gates. Check your case against the published dimensions and the actual available compartment. Tokyo Metro also lists Hibiya Line locker facilities.

Is Roppongi Station the same as Roppongi-itchome?

No. Roppongi serves the Hibiya and Oedo lines; Roppongi-itchome is a separate Namboku Line station. Save the full name when booking storage or planning collection.

Can I send luggage from a convenience store near my outing?

Yes. Sign up for Silk Crane, follow the supplied sending instructions and send from a convenience store. Keep everything needed during shipping and arrange later delivery; shipping is charged separately.

Can I have stored luggage delivered to another Tokyo hotel?

Yes. Arrange a later hotel and delivery date in advance, and check that reception can receive the case. The hotel does not need to be in Roppongi.
