A gallery afternoon without the spare suitcase

Roppongi luggage storage: send your suitcase and explore art galleries with a small shoulder bag.
Send the extra luggage and explore Roppongi’s galleries with a small shoulder bag.

Imagine a gallery afternoon in Roppongi before several days away from Tokyo. Your spare suitcase has clothing and purchases for the final part of the holiday, while a smaller bag holds what you need now.

Sign up for Silk Crane, follow the supplied sending instructions and send the suitcase from your hotel front desk or a convenience store. Keep essentials for the shipping period with you. The gallery visit can flow into dinner without a suitcase-collection detour; arrange delivery to your later hotel and allow time to receive it before departure.

A convenience-store stop, then a lighter day

Already out with a suitcase you will not need for the next part of the trip? Picture sending it from a convenience store, then carrying on with a small bag. Sign up for Silk Crane, follow the supplied sending instructions, keep your essentials during shipping and arrange delivery to a later hotel in Japan.

An ordinary suitcase at 7-Eleven

Roppongi luggage storage: hand over your suitcase at a 7-Eleven and enjoy the city with a small shoulder bag.
Send from a convenience store after checkout and enjoy the next stop with your smaller bag.

1. Silk Crane: send the bag and arrange later delivery

Choose Silk Crane when the extra suitcase can skip part of your trip. Send from your hotel front desk or a convenience store, keep a smaller bag and arrange delivery when you need the stored belongings again. There is no trip to a Silk Crane storage location and no return journey to collect from the same locker.

Cost: a monthly or annual plan, plus separate shipping. Compare the current storage plans together with sending and return-delivery costs. Silk Crane has no walk-in counter at Roppongi and does not provide immediate retrieval or same-day local holding.

Sign up before sending and use the supplied address and instructions. Keep documents, medicine and everything needed during shipping with you. The hotel and airport delivery guide explains how to plan the bag’s return. If the suitcase simply needs to reach your next hotel soon, direct forwarding may be the simpler arrangement.

2. Hibiya Line lockers: larger sizes are at selected banks

The Metro Roppongi locker map lists a small-only bank near Exit 1 at ¥500. Banks inside the Nishi-Azabu gate and outside the Roppongi intersection gate also list medium ¥600 and large ¥900 compartments.

For a full-size suitcase, choose the bank before walking to Exit 1. Note whether collection requires entering the paid area, especially if the next journey uses the Oedo Line instead.

3. Oedo Line lockers: two outside-gate directions

Toei’s Roppongi locker directory lists large compartments on B1 outside the gates toward the Hibiya Line and Roppongi Hills, and near the elevator toward the Midtown connection. Read the current fee and collection rules at the bank.

The published large-compartment dimensions are about 85.6 cm high, 34.2 cm wide and 66.3 cm deep. Compare the packed case, including wheels and handles. Choose the direction you will return from rather than assuming every outside-gate bank is beside the same exit.

4. Tokyo Midtown: cashless lockers with different hours

Tokyo Midtown’s locker guide lists ¥500 small, ¥800 medium and ¥1,000 large, paid by card, electronic money or code payment. The three Galleria banks have different access windows:

  • B1 bicycle-parking passage: 08:00–23:00.
  • B1 near Garden Terrace: 11:00–23:30.
  • 1F near the passenger elevator on the Precce side: 09:30–24:00.

Another fee applies at 02:00; that is a billing boundary, not an opening time. Check the site’s closure notices for your date. Walking route toward Tokyo Midtown Galleria — about 350 m / 5 min from the north side of Roppongi intersection. Continue inside to your chosen bank.

5. Roppongi Hills: choose the building as well as the size

The Roppongi Hills facilities guide lists paid lockers at Metro Hat B1, Hollywood Beauty Plaza 2F, West Walk 2F/3F and Keyakizaka Complex B2. Check the selected bank’s rate and access hours.

Walking route toward Metro Hat at Roppongi Hills — about 450 m / 6 min from the north side of Roppongi intersection. This ends at the building reference point, so leave time to find the locker floor.

The 52F art and observation facilities also describe visitor lockers. Those are tied to a ticketed visit, rather than a general luggage solution for an entire day elsewhere in Roppongi.

Two nearby places to send your suitcase

Your hotel front desk may save a walk altogether. Already out with the suitcase? Yamato’s directory lists these nearby places as accepting shipments. They are sending points, not Silk Crane storage branches.

7-Eleven Roppongi Station North

7-14-23 Roppongi

Walking directions to 7-Eleven Roppongi Station North — about 99 m / 1 min from the north side of Roppongi intersection.

FamilyMart Roppongi Station Front

3-11-10 Roppongi

Walking directions to FamilyMart Roppongi Station Front — about 180 m / 3 min from the north side of Roppongi intersection.

The directory lists both stores as open 24 hours. Carrier collection has separate cutoffs, and these stores do not accept Size 180 or 200 parcels. For larger luggage, use a Yamato service center and follow your sending instructions.

Walking estimates were checked on October 5, 2026, from the named starting point beside each link. They exclude platforms, indoor navigation, queues and the shipping handoff. The routes are useful examples, not a claim that these are the nearest stores. Allow extra time with luggage.

Questions before choosing

Which local choice suits dinner after a gallery visit?

Start with the restaurant’s location and your expected finish time. Midtown’s locker banks have different closing times, and Hills access depends on the selected building. Read the collection window before committing to the evening plan.

Can I assume a large locker fits my suitcase?

No. Large is a size label, not a guarantee. Measure the packed case including wheels and handles, compare the actual compartment, and check availability before paying.
