Send bulky luggage to storage and enjoy the space in your Japanese guest room.

Oversized Luggage Storage When Your Japan Hotel Has No Room

Keep the small room. Send the large bags.

A large suitcase, duffel or travel box does not need to fill the room for every night of your Japan holiday. Silk Crane stores the bags you can do without and arranges delivery when you need them again.

Send from where you are staying, carry on with a smaller bag, and enjoy the accommodation you chose.

Send the spare suitcase from your hotel front desk or a convenience store using your Silk Crane instructions. Monthly and annual storage plans are available; shipping is charged separately.

Explore storage for larger luggage

A small Kyoto room, with room to enjoy it

Send bulky luggage to storage and enjoy the space in your Japanese guest room.
Enjoy the room without the extra luggage.

Imagine a Kyoto stay in a small room overlooking a courtyard, midway through a longer Japan holiday. The big suitcases hold clothing and purchases you will need later, but they would take up much of the floor.

You send those bags from the previous hotel to storage and arrive with what you need for Kyoto. The room has space for tea and an open view, while delivery of the larger luggage is planned for your final hotel stay.

After signup, use your supplied instructions to arrange the large packages before the Kyoto stay. An ordinary suitcase can go from your hotel front desk or a convenience store. Keep the smaller bag ready for Kyoto and shipping, and discuss unusually large packages before handover.

Make room for the useful part of your stay

When the accommodation cannot keep the big bag

Hotels, apartments and hostels have different space and luggage arrangements. If they cannot hold a large bag through a gap in your trip, storage gives it somewhere to stay.

Our large suitcase and extra-bag guide helps you separate the everyday luggage from the items you can put aside.

Choose the pieces you will not need each day

Store the suitcase, duffel or box that can skip this part of the itinerary. Keep medicines, documents and the clothes you will need with you until the planned delivery.

The small hotel room story shows how that makes the room easier to enjoy. Storage works best when you will not need daily access to the packed bag.

Plan the shipment for the bag’s actual size

Sign up, pack securely and use the current address and suite details from your welcome email. For an unusually large or heavy item, share its packed dimensions and weight with Silk Crane before sending so the carrier route can be planned.

Arrange sending from your hotel or another suitable carrier handover for that package. Use the labeling and tracking guide to keep the handover clear.

Bring the bag back into the trip later

Choose a later hotel or another arranged destination in Japan, and plan delivery ahead of when you need the contents. There is no trip back to a storage location to retrieve it.

Monthly and annual plans are available. Shipping is separate and depends on the package and route; use the shipping estimates to plan both directions.

Larger luggage and hotel stays: common questions

Can Silk Crane store luggage my accommodation cannot hold?

Yes. Large suitcases, duffels, boxes and ordinary travel bags can be stored while you travel. Discuss unusual packed size or weight before sending.

Can I take things out of the bag each day?

This is storage with planned delivery, rather than daily locker access. Keep the items you need for this part of the trip with you.

Can the suitcase go to a different hotel afterward?

Yes. Arrange the later destination and receiving details with time for shipping. It does not need to return to the hotel you sent it from.
