Keep the room for you, not the biggest suitcase
A small hotel can be a lovely base for a Japan trip. An open full-size suitcase across the floor makes it harder to enjoy. Send the bag you do not need to Silk Crane and keep a smaller bag for this part of the holiday.
Shipping is as close as your hotel front desk or a convenience store. Arrange delivery to a later hotel or a Yamato airport departure counter when you need the suitcase again.

Five Kyoto nights, with room to settle in
Imagine five autumn nights in a compact Kyoto hotel. You want an easy base for temple walks, cafés and dinner nearby, but your large suitcase also holds clothes and purchases for the rest of a longer trip.
Before that stay, pack the Kyoto clothes and daily essentials into a small bag and send the suitcase to storage. The room is easier to use, and you can settle in without stepping around open luggage. Arrange the suitcase’s delivery ahead of your later Osaka hotel stay.
Before the Kyoto stay, sign up and follow the supplied sending instructions. If you are already out after checkout, send the suitcase from a convenience store and carry your Kyoto clothes, medication and documents through the shipping days.

Ask the property about its luggage space if you need access to the bag every day. For a suitcase you can put aside for part of the trip, planned storage lets you keep just the overnight or day-to-day bag with you.

Send from your hotel front desk or a convenience store
Already out with the suitcase after checkout? A convenience store lets you send it without returning to your hotel. You can still send your suitcase if you are staying in an apartment or another place without a reception desk. After signing up, use the storage address supplied with your account and take the packed bag to a 7-Eleven, FamilyMart or Yamato sales office.

Have the suitcase delivered for the next part
Choose a later hotel stay or arrange airport departure-counter collection for the end of the trip. Plan the return in advance so you can keep enjoying the days in between.

Does this work for capsule hotels?
Yes, when you can put the large bag aside and do not need daily access. If you need it every day, ask the capsule hotel about its own luggage arrangements.
Can I send a suitcase without help from my accommodation?
Yes. Use the instructions supplied with your storage account and send from a convenience store or Yamato sales office. Your accommodation does not have to dispatch it.
