Omiya Station Luggage Storage and Lockers: Plan Your Connection
Share
Make an Omiya train connection easier by sending the suitcase you will only need later. Silk Crane’s monthly and annual storage lets you ship extra belongings from your hotel front desk or a convenience store, travel with a smaller bag and arrange delivery to a later hotel. You can keep the train journey focused on your next destination. Shipping is charged separately.
JR East confirms coin lockers at Omiya Station. For a bag needed again today, use the current station map and signs to choose a bank you can return to. The JR, Tobu and New Shuttle routes do not all use the same gates; note your locker’s level and which side of the ticket gates it is on.
An onward train without the spare case
Picture checking out of an Omiya hotel before a rail journey farther north. The backpack has clothes for the coming days, while the suitcase holds purchases and items for the final stay. Send that case to Silk Crane from the hotel.
Walk into the station with the backpack and follow the signs for your booked service. There is no need to return for that stored case before boarding. Arrange its delivery to a later hotel with time for shipping.

After signing up with Silk Crane, follow your supplied sending instructions. If you are already out with the packed suitcase, you can send it from a convenience store before continuing your Omiya rail connection.
Choose the return route before choosing a locker
For a same-day outing, work backward from your departure: where will you enter the station, collect the bag and find the train? Allow time to reach the actual platform after collection. A locker beyond a ticket gate can add an access or fare question if you have already left the paid area.
Photograph the locker number and nearby signs. Read its price, payment method, charging boundary, access hours and maximum holding period. The official facility listing confirms lockers exist; it does not show live vacancies or guarantee that your suitcase fits.
Nearby lockers can be a useful alternative
The locker operator Fuji publishes an Omiya-area location list with banks on both sides of the station. Examples include the OZ SAKURA building on the west side and locations near Omiya Takashimaya on the east side. These are outside-station choices, not extra JR gate locations.
Use the operator’s map and current machine instructions before leaving a bag. An available compartment a few streets away may suit a city visit but be inconvenient immediately before departure. Compare the walking route as well as the price.
Match the bag plan to the outing
For the museum, our Railway Museum luggage guide explains the separate entrance-locker option. For shrine walks and a wider stay, use the Saitama city guide.
If the case is unnecessary for the coming days, send it before leaving your hotel rather than moving it between lockers at every stop. If you need its contents tonight, local holding or a hotel arrangement keeps the bag close to your day’s route.
Send the spare suitcase and plan its return
Book storage, follow the sending instructions and ask your hotel front desk to help arrange the shipment. Keep your medicine, documents and the belongings you need during shipping with you. Confirm that your later hotel can receive the case, then plan your storage and delivery dates.
Silk Crane receives shipped belongings for monthly or annual storage and later delivery. Shipping is charged separately, as explained in the storage and shipping cost guide. This is not an on-site walk-in counter or immediate bag collection service.
Questions before you go
Does Omiya Station have luggage lockers?
Yes. JR East lists coin lockers among the station facilities. Check the station map, signs and actual bank for access, size and availability.
Can I reserve any locker at Omiya?
Do not assume every machine accepts reservations. Use only the reservation instructions offered for the particular bank you choose.
Are there lockers outside the station?
Yes. Fuji’s operator list identifies nearby banks on the east and west sides. Check the exact location before paying and leave time to walk back.
Can Silk Crane collect my case at the station immediately?
No. Arrange a shipment from your hotel and later delivery through the storage service. Keep the bag you need during shipping with you.
