Nihon Minka-en luggage storage: send your suitcase from the hotel and explore the folk houses with a small daypack.

Nihon Minka-en luggage storage: a lighter Ikuta Ryokuchi visit

Explore Nihon Minka-en’s folk houses with room to enjoy the paths and wooded setting. Silk Crane lets you send extra luggage from your hotel into monthly or annual storage and arrange delivery to a later stay. Take a smaller bag for this Kawasaki outing; shipping is charged separately.

Choose storage for your Kawasaki trip

Time among the folk houses

Picture spending a quiet morning in northern Kawasaki before continuing to another part of Japan. Your spare suitcase holds clothes and purchases for later, so send it from your hotel to Silk Crane. Keep the coming days’ essentials in a small daypack.

Walk among Nihon Minka-en’s traditional houses with less to carry, pausing for the details of their timber and thatched roofs. Continue afterward without a collection trip for the stored case, and arrange its delivery to a later hotel with time for shipping.

Use the confirmed lockers; plan separately for a large case

The Nihon Minka-en FAQ confirms 100-yen refundable lockers in the main building. Check whether your belongings fit before beginning the outdoor visit.

The same FAQ has withdrawn its former ticket-office holding statement beneath a notice that arrangements have changed. It does not establish a current oversized-suitcase service. For a large case needed today, arrange holding with your hotel or a suitable station locker before coming. Do not assume the museum will keep it at a ticket office.

These are Nihon Minka-en’s facilities. They do not establish baggage holding for every attraction in Ikuta Ryokuchi. Keep valuables and anything needed on the paths with you.

Mukogaoka-Yuen is the shorter walking approach

The museum’s access guide gives about thirteen minutes on foot from Mukogaoka-Yuen’s south exit to the east entrance and main gate, compared with about twenty-five minutes from JR Noborito’s Ikuta Ryokuchi exit. The west gate has a different approach. Choose the entrance before deciding where to leave today’s bag.

The Noborito bus via the Fujiko Museum runs on that museum’s opening days. Check your date rather than assuming daily service. The folk-house museum also publishes opening-day exceptions: October 13, 2026 is open and October 14 is closed. Check the Ikuta Ryokuchi notices for the wider walk.

Send the extra case and arrange its return

Book your storage plan and follow the sending instructions. Ask your hotel front desk to help arrange the shipment, or use a convenience store that accepts it or a Yamato service center. Keep documents, medicine and everything needed during shipping with you.

Silk Crane receives shipped belongings for monthly or annual storage and later delivery. Shipping is charged separately. Before sending, confirm that your later hotel can receive the case and plan your luggage delivery dates around Kawasaki. The storage and shipping cost guide explains the separate charges.
