JR Kyushu’s locker list dated 28 August 2026 records 26 small, 18 medium and 34 large standard compartments at Kokura. In its price category, those sizes cost ¥500, ¥700 and ¥800 respectively. These are the operator’s listed compartments, not a count of every locker in nearby commercial buildings or a live vacancy check.
The charging day changes at midnight, with an additional charge for continued use. Read the notices on the locker for its access hours and terms. Before paying, check that the whole case fits, including wheels and handles. Do not infer locker opening hours from the station’s ticket-office hours.
Find your exit before choosing where to leave the bag
The official plan distinguishes the Shinkansen (north) exit and Kokura Castle (south) exit. Save a photograph of the locker number and a nearby sign, so you can find the same bank after sightseeing. Allow time to collect the case before going through the gates for your next train.
