5 Kokura Station Luggage Storage Options Compared
Share
Explore Mojiko and continue through northern Kyushu with fewer bags. With Silk Crane, send the extra suitcase from your hotel front desk or a convenience store, then arrange delivery to a later hotel in Japan.
Monthly and annual storage plans are available; shipping is charged separately. If you need your bag after today’s outing, Kokura offers station counters and several locker areas. This comparison separates the Shinkansen-side banks from the AMU shopping-side banks so you can plan a sensible collection route.

A Mojiko waterfront stop with less to carry

Picture two travelers using Kokura as a stop on a longer Kyushu holiday. They want to enjoy Mojiko’s harbor and historic streets before continuing to another town. Their spare suitcase holds purchases that will not be needed until the final hotel.
After signing up for Silk Crane, they follow the supplied instructions and send that case from a convenience store. Their small bags contain everything needed during shipping. They can spend time on the waterfront and continue their journey without making a separate Kokura collection stop for the spare case.
They arrange later delivery ahead of their final stay. For a Mojiko outing that ends back at Kokura with all the luggage needed that night, one of the local choices below can fit better.
Send before checkout or while you are out
Picture setting aside the suitcase you will not need for the next part of the trip. Send it from your hotel front desk before checkout, or from a convenience store while you are out. Sign up for Silk Crane, use the supplied sending instructions and keep your essentials during shipping. Arrange delivery to your later hotel in Japan.

1. Silk Crane: send the bag and arrange later delivery
Choose Silk Crane when your extra luggage can skip part of the journey. Send from your hotel front desk or a convenience store, keep a smaller bag and arrange delivery when you want the stored belongings again. There is no trip to a Silk Crane storage location or return to the same locker.
Cost: a monthly or annual plan, plus separate shipping. Compare the current storage plans together with sending and return-delivery costs. Silk Crane has no walk-in counter at Kokura Station and does not provide immediate retrieval or same-day local holding.
Sign up before sending and follow the supplied instructions. Keep documents, medicine and everything needed during shipping with you. The hotel and airport delivery guide explains how to plan the return. If you simply need the suitcase at your next hotel soon, direct forwarding may be the simpler choice.
2. Shinkansen-side lockers: use the railway map
JR Service Net Fukuoka’s locker information identifies Kokura banks on 1F on the Shinkansen side and beside the Shinkansen gates. Use the Kokura Station floor map to match the bank to your arrival and departure route.
Check the compartment size, price and access hours where you deposit. Keep the receipt or IC card and note the level. If you return from Mojiko by conventional train, allow time to reach the locker and then your onward platform.
3. Yamato: a ¥500 counter alternative
Yamato’s current baggage-storage list includes the JR Kokura Station Counter at ¥500 per item, with same-day collection by 19:00. Its station-counter directory gives the address as 1-1-1 Asano, Kokurakita-ku.
Use Yamato’s map pin for its JR Kokura counter and confirm the desk with station staff. Ask about acceptance time and your particular bag before leaving it. This is a different service from the tourist information center and from leaving shipped belongings in Silk Crane storage.
4. Tourist information: a staffed option on 3F
The city’s official tourist information guide confirms luggage holding at the Kitakyushu City Tourist Information Center, JR Kokura Station 3F. Its published opening hours are 09:00–19:00, year-round.
This can be useful when you also want help planning a local outing. Ask the desk for the current holding charge, last acceptance time and collection conditions. A tourist information opening time is not automatically the latest time to bring in a new bag. Keep the collection commitment clear before heading toward Mojiko or the castle.
5. AMU shopping-side lockers: choose a particular entrance
The AMU Plaza Kokura service guide lists lockers on West Building 1F and beside the East Building 2F entrance. Use the AMU floor guide for these shopping-side alternatives. The station 3F banks shown in the same directory are part of the wider station network, not another service to count separately.
Check price, dimensions and access at your selected bank. The West 1F PUDO parcel terminal is a separate shipping-and-receiving facility; it is not a general suitcase-storage locker. Choose a normal luggage locker when the purpose is collecting your case after shopping.
A nearby place to send your suitcase
Your hotel front desk may save a walk altogether. Already out with the case? Yamato’s directory lists this nearby branch as accepting shipments. It is a sending point, not a Silk Crane storage branch.

2-2-21 Asano, Kokurakita-ku
Walking directions to 7-Eleven Kokura Asano 2-chome — about 5 minutes / 350 m from Kokura Station’s map point.
This north-side branch lists 24-hour opening. Sign up for Silk Crane first and use the supplied sending instructions. Ask staff to confirm acceptance for your packed suitcase. Convenience-store shipment listings exclude Size 180 and 200 parcels. Confirm the dispatch cutoff; 24-hour opening does not mean every bag leaves that day.
Walking estimates were checked October 5, 2026, from the map starting point named beside each link. Allow extra time for platforms, indoor navigation, stairs, queues and the handoff. These are useful examples, not a claim that they are the nearest stores.
Questions before choosing
Can I collect a bag after an evening meal in Kokura?
Yamato’s published holding deadline and the tourist information center’s closing time are both 19:00. For later plans, check the access hours at a suitable locker bank before leaving your bag.
Is sending from a convenience store the same as local storage?
No. For Silk Crane, the convenience store accepts a parcel shipment using the instructions supplied after signup. Keep essentials with you during transit and arrange later delivery. Local counter storage means returning to collect the bag there.
