Kita-Kamakura temples: send spare luggage from your hotel and enjoy a wooded temple approach with a small daypack.

Kita-Kamakura’s temples luggage storage: Leave room for the temple paths

Leave room for temple gates, gardens and wooded approaches by sending the spare suitcase before your northern Kamakura visit. With Silk Crane, send your extra suitcase from your hotel into monthly or annual storage and arrange delivery to a later stay. Shipping is charged separately.

Choose storage for your Kamakura trip

A temple afternoon between longer stays

Imagine a Kamakura stay between a shopping week in Tokyo and a later city hotel. Your big suitcase holds things that can wait, so you arrange shipment from your hotel into Silk Crane storage. Keep a small bag with the clothes and essentials needed for this part of Japan.

You can pause along the temple approaches without manoeuvring the spare case through entrances and paths. Arrange delivery to the later hotel before you need those belongings, with reception and shipping time confirmed.

Arrange the case before the temple entrances

The checked visitor information for Engakuji, Meigetsuin and Kenchoji does not establish a general large-suitcase holding service. Use a suitable locker or agreed hotel holding first, or ask a temple directly about a particular need before relying on reception.

The Kita-Kamakura Station guide covers its confirmed locker listing and collection planning. If you instead leave the bag at Kamakura’s west-side association office, remember that the whole visit must leave time to return to that office.

Treat the three temples as separate visits

Engakuji’s visitor and access guide gives about one minute from Kita-Kamakura. Kanagawa’s Meigetsuin guide gives about ten minutes. Kenchoji’s own access page gives about fifteen minutes on foot or a bus from Kita-Kamakura.

These estimates are approaches from the station, not a timed loop between all three. Check each temple’s current notices, leave time for its grounds and choose the final collection point before adding more stops. A visit to temple grounds is separate from a longer hillside hiking route.

Send the extra case and arrange its return

Book your storage plan and follow the sending instructions. Ask your hotel front desk to help arrange the shipment, or use a convenience store that accepts it or a Yamato service center. Keep documents, medicine and everything needed during shipping with you.

Silk Crane receives shipped belongings for monthly or annual storage and later delivery. Shipping is charged separately. Before sending, confirm that your later hotel can receive the case and plan your luggage delivery dates around Kamakura. The storage and shipping cost guide explains the separate charges.

Questions before you go

Will each temple hold a large suitcase?

That service is not established by the checked visitor pages. Arrange suitable holding beforehand or ask directly.

Are the three temples at one entrance?

No. Engakuji, Meigetsuin and Kenchoji have separate approaches and visitor arrangements.

Do the walking estimates describe a complete temple circuit?

No. They describe approaches from Kita-Kamakura Station. Allow additional time for the visits and your return to stored luggage.

Can I collect my Silk Crane shipment here today?

Silk Crane receives belongings sent into storage for later delivery. Use suitable local holding for a bag needed again today, and plan the return to its collection point.
