Kanazawa Station luggage storage: send your suitcase from the hotel and continue through the station with a small backpack.

Kanazawa Station Luggage Storage and Lockers: Plan Your Arrival

Start your Kanazawa rail journey with the bag you need for the next few days. Silk Crane lets you send extra belongings from your hotel into monthly or annual storage and arrange delivery to a later stop. That leaves less to manage between the station, local transport and your hotel. Shipping is charged separately.

Keep the spare suitcase out of the transfer

Imagine arriving in Kanazawa after several days of shopping elsewhere in Japan. Before this leg, send the case of extra purchases to Silk Crane from your hotel, keeping your travel clothes and essentials in a compact backpack.

You can continue through the station and into the city without searching for a space for that second case. Arrange its delivery to a later hotel in advance, with enough time for shipping.

A convenience-store stop, then a lighter day

Already out with a suitcase you will not need for the next part of the trip? Picture sending it from a convenience store, then carrying on with a small bag. Sign up for Silk Crane, follow the supplied sending instructions, keep your essentials during shipping and arrange delivery to a later hotel in Japan.

Where to look for Kanazawa Station lockers

The official station locker guide lists Anto east-entrance, west-entrance and south-side banks, plus lockers within Anto and Rinto. It identifies some banks with round-the-clock access and others with shorter hours. Check the exact bank you use.

Read the size and payment instructions before paying. Save a photo of the locker number and nearby sign; the shopping areas and station passages can look different when you return from another direction.

When a suitcase needs a counter instead

The official Kanazawa luggage directory places the left-luggage counter at Anto’s east entrance near the JR ticket office. It lists 09:30–19:30 through 30 September 2026, changing to 09:30–19:00 from 1 October 2026. For an evening departure, collect before the counter closes; the train timetable does not extend holding hours.

Check acceptance and space at the counter before leaving the case. If you need the bag tonight, keep the solution local. For belongings you will not use during several destinations, plan shipment to Silk Crane before the station day rather than repeating a storage-and-collection stop at every arrival.

Collect first, then find the departure route

Work backward from the train: reach the correct platform, pass the gates if required, and allow enough time before those steps to retrieve luggage. Do not leave collection until the last few minutes.

Our Kanazawa city guide helps with the wider visit. For sightseeing details, use the Kenrokuen and castle guide or Higashi Chaya guide.

If you continue by bus toward Shirakawa-go or Takayama, check the current route and reservation information and allow time to reach its departure stop after collection. Our Shirakawa-go terminal guide covers the next gateway.

Send the spare suitcase and plan its return

Book storage, follow the sending instructions and ask your hotel front desk to help arrange the shipment. Keep medicine, documents and the belongings you need during shipping with you. Confirm that your later hotel can receive the case, then plan your storage and delivery dates.

Silk Crane receives shipped belongings for monthly or annual storage and later delivery. Shipping is charged separately; the storage and shipping cost guide explains the distinction. Arrange delivery in advance rather than expecting immediate collection at the station or attraction.

Questions before you go

Are there luggage lockers at Kanazawa Station?

Yes. The city’s official guide lists banks around Anto and Rinto. Check the linked guide and the instructions on the bank you choose.

Do all Kanazawa Station lockers have the same hours?

No. Some banks have longer access than others. A nearby shopping-area locker may close before your train departs.

Can I leave an oversized bag at the station?

Ask the Anto east-entrance left-luggage counter about acceptance and space. Its listed closing time changes from 19:30 to 19:00 on 1 October 2026; collect before closing.

Can I collect a Silk Crane shipment immediately at the station?

No. Silk Crane provides storage of shipped belongings and planned later delivery. It is separate from station lockers and local holding.
