Kamakura Station luggage storage: send your extra suitcase from the hotel and arrive with a smaller travel bag.

Kamakura Station Luggage Storage and Coin Lockers

Start the Kamakura visit with the bag you need, rather than every suitcase from the holiday. With Silk Crane, send spare belongings from your hotel into storage and arrange delivery to a later stop.

East exit, west exit or inside the gates

The JR East locker guide, updated August 2026 describes an east-side locker room near the public toilets and west-side banks near the gate and ticket machines. It also lists inside-gate lockers, including near the Enoden transfer entrance. Decide whether you will have the right ticket access when collecting.

The JR guide says its listed lockers are cashless; payment options differ by bank. Some Multi-eCube lockers can be reserved through the linked operator service. Check the current fee and compartment size there rather than assuming every locker accepts coins or a particular card.

The Enoden Kamakura Station page separately confirms lockers. Keep the railway name and gate location with your collection details. A bag left within one operator’s area is not automatically accessible from another platform.

A lighter start at the station

Imagine the Kamakura stop comes between a Tokyo stay and several nights farther west. Your larger suitcase contains purchases that will not be used during that stretch. You send it from the hotel to Silk Crane and carry only the clothes and essentials for the next few days.

At Kamakura Station, you can head out to the town without first finding room for the spare case. Later, arrange the stored luggage’s delivery to a hotel that can receive it, allowing time for shipping.

Keep later-trip luggage out of the station stop

A station locker is convenient when the same bag must come back to you today. Silk Crane lets belongings for a later part of Japan stay out of this visit entirely, so collecting that case need not decide your route through Kamakura.

Choose a Silk Crane storage plan. Send the spare case from your hotel, keep the things you need for this part of Japan and arrange delivery to a later stop. Monthly and annual storage plans are available; shipping is charged separately.

Use the west-side association office for luggage holding

The tourist association’s current baggage service page lists its office on the fourth floor of the Enoden Building, 1-12 Onarimachi. The service runs from 9:00 to 17:00, with collection by 17:00. Check closure notices for your date.

This is not the tourist information desk beside the east exit. Keep the office location in your phone and confirm the collection arrangements when leaving the bag. Do not plan to collect after closing simply because trains are still running.

Choose the station side around the visit

Komachi Street and the shrine approach start from the east side; Enoden journeys toward Hase and Enoshima have their own route through the station. Read the Kamakura city guide for choosing a loop or a through journey.

If you leave the area through Fujisawa after sightseeing, allow for a return to any luggage left here. Our Fujisawa Station guide helps compare that onward gateway.

Send the spare suitcase and plan its return

Book storage, follow the sending instructions and ask your hotel front desk to help arrange the shipment. Keep medicine, documents and the belongings you need during shipping with you. Confirm that your later hotel can receive the case, then plan your storage and delivery dates.

Silk Crane receives shipped belongings for monthly or annual storage and later delivery. Shipping is charged separately; the storage and shipping cost guide explains the distinction. Arrange delivery in advance rather than expecting immediate collection at the station or attraction.

Questions before you go

Does Kamakura Station have coin lockers?

Yes. Official railway sources list lockers, including banks inside and outside the gates. The JR guide describes cashless payment for the lockers it covers.

Can I reserve a Kamakura locker?

JR East identifies reservable Multi-eCube locations. Follow the operator link in its guide to check current availability, fees and reservation conditions.

Where is the luggage-holding office?

The tourist association lists its fourth-floor office in the Enoden Building on the west side. Collect by 17:00 and check current opening dates.

How is Silk Crane different from a station locker?

Send belongings you do not need for this stage into monthly or annual storage and arrange delivery later. A station locker keeps a bag at that station for your collection.
