Kaiyukan and Tempozan: send your suitcase from the hotel and enjoy the aquarium with a small bag.

Kaiyukan and Tempozan luggage storage: Enjoy Osaka Bay with less luggage

Enjoy the aquarium’s great viewing windows and an Osaka Bay outing with a small bag. With Silk Crane, send your extra luggage from the hotel into monthly or annual storage and arrange delivery to a later stay. Shipping is charged separately.

Choose storage for your Osaka trip

An aquarium afternoon between city stays

Imagine a couple spending several days in Osaka before travelling onwards. They send their spare suitcase to Silk Crane and ask their hotel to hold the smaller bag needed that evening, leaving just a day bag for Kaiyukan.

They can settle in front of the great aquarium windows without managing a rolling case between exhibits. Their stored belongings will be delivered to the later hotel where they need them again, allowing enough shipping time before arrival.

Kaiyukan’s baggage rule makes advance storage useful

Kaiyukan’s current baggage notice prohibits carry cases and carts, as well as luggage within its stated oversized categories. The change took effect on 24 April 2026. Leave those items at your accommodation or a suitable storage facility before entering; a small rolling suitcase is still a carry case.

The official facility guide lists lockers near the aquarium entrance, Kaiyukan Hall and museum shop, with additional lockers at Tempozan Marketplace and beneath the Ferris wheel. Hall and museum-shop lockers are listed as usable without an aquarium ticket. Check your bag’s fit, current vacancy and collection access before committing to the visit.

Keep collection in the Tempozan day plan

The aquarium, waterfront and Ferris wheel can make one bay-area outing, but your stored bag remains at the facility you chose. If you leave it at a city hotel, allow the journey back before an onward train. If you use a local locker, collect while that part of the complex is accessible.

For food plans, the operator’s Naniwa Kuishinbo Yokocho renovation notice announces closure from 29 September 2026, except some shops, with reopening planned for late March 2027. This concerns the food area in Tempozan Marketplace, not the aquarium itself. Check the current notice when choosing where to eat.

Send the extra case and arrange its return

Book your storage plan and follow the sending instructions. Ask your hotel front desk to help arrange the shipment, or use a convenience store that accepts it or a Yamato service center. Keep documents, medicine and everything needed during shipping with you.

Silk Crane receives shipped belongings for monthly or annual storage and later delivery. Shipping is charged separately. Before sending, confirm that your later hotel can receive the case and plan your luggage delivery dates around Osaka. The storage and shipping cost guide explains the separate charges.

Questions before you go

Can I take a rolling suitcase into Kaiyukan?

Can I use any aquarium-area locker without a ticket?

The official guide specifically lists the Hall and museum-shop lockers as usable without a ticket. Check access and availability at your chosen bank.

Does the food-area renovation close Kaiyukan?

The notice concerns Naniwa Kuishinbo Yokocho inside Tempozan Marketplace. It does not announce an aquarium closure.

How does Silk Crane fit this Osaka journey?

Send the belongings you can travel without into monthly or annual storage, then arrange delivery to a later hotel. Shipping is charged separately. Keep what you need during transit with you; arrange local holding for a bag needed back today.
