Himeji Station Luggage Storage and Lockers: Plan Your Stop
Share
Reach Himeji Station ready for the next part of your trip. Silk Crane lets you send extra luggage from your hotel into monthly or annual storage and arrange delivery to a later hotel. Keep the bag you need for this leg and leave the spare suitcase out of the transfer. Shipping is charged separately.
A lighter stop between longer stays
Picture a Himeji stop on the way from Kansai to a longer stay farther west. Before leaving your hotel, send the suitcase holding extra purchases to Silk Crane and pack a small backpack for the coming days.
You can leave Himeji Station for a meal or sightseeing without first finding space for the spare case. Arrange its delivery to a later hotel ahead of time, with enough room in the itinerary for shipping.

Where to look around JR Himeji
The official Himeji locker guide identifies Piole-area banks near the South Exit and the Himeji Castle Exit. These give travelers different collection routes on opposite sides of the JR station.
Start with the exit you will use on your return. Before paying, check the size, payment instructions and access hours on the locker itself. A station-area location does not mean every bank has the same opening time or a free suitcase-sized compartment.
Grand Festa and Sanyo Himeji are separate choices
The tourism guide also lists Grand Festa lockers and banks at Sanyo Himeji. Shopping-area access can differ from railway access, so check the named facility rather than assuming that a late train guarantees late collection.
For a suitcase that does not fit, the official temporary holding guide lists local services. Confirm opening and collection details directly before handing over the bag.
Leave room for the return to your locker
Save a photograph of the locker number and its surroundings. Put the collection stop before the gates and platform in your departure plan; retrieving luggage from another building takes longer than going directly to the train.
Our Himeji Castle luggage guide covers the sightseeing leg. For hotel stays and onward travel, see the Himeji city overview.
Send the spare suitcase and plan its return
Book storage, follow the sending instructions and ask your hotel front desk to help arrange the shipment. Keep medicine, documents and the belongings you need during shipping with you. Confirm that your later hotel can receive the case, then plan your storage and delivery dates.
Silk Crane receives shipped belongings for monthly or annual storage and later delivery. Shipping is charged separately; the storage and shipping cost guide explains the distinction. Arrange delivery in advance rather than expecting immediate collection at the station or attraction.
Questions before you go
Are there lockers outside JR Himeji’s ticket gates?
Yes. The official tourism guide lists Piole-area banks outside the gates near the South Exit and Himeji Castle Exit.
Can I collect any station-area locker late at night?
Do not assume so. Grand Festa, JR-area and Sanyo facilities have separate access arrangements; read the instructions for the bank you use.
What if a large locker is unavailable?
Check a local holding service or your own hotel. For spare belongings needed later in the trip, arrange shipment to Silk Crane ahead of the station visit.
Can Silk Crane deliver the bag to a later hotel?
Arrange later delivery in advance and allow shipping time. Silk Crane is not an immediate station collection counter.
