Haneda Airport Luggage Storage: 4 Options Compared
Share
Start the Tokyo part of your trip with a small bag, even when golf clubs or winter gear came off the plane with you. With Silk Crane, send the equipment into storage and arrange delivery in Japan when your sporting plans begin. For an ordinary suitcase, send from your hotel front desk or a convenience store, or use an airport shipping counter on arrival.
Silk Crane offers monthly and annual storage, with shipping charged separately. For a bag you need again today, compare the local choices below and plan the collection route before setting off.

Tokyo first, golf later
Picture arriving at Haneda with a golf travel bag, but spending the opening days in Tokyo before heading to your first round. After signing up for Silk Crane, you send the clubs from the arrival airport counter using your storage instructions. You keep travel documents, medicine and clothing for the days before delivery in your small bag.
The airport Yamato handoff below shows how the clubs can leave your hands at the start of the trip. With the clubs stored, a waterfront walk and a cafe stop are easier. Arrange delivery to the hotel for your golf stay before you need the clubs, rather than carrying them around Tokyo.

Compare 4 choices for your journey
This is Silk Crane’s comparison, not an independent ranking. Prices are in yen. Compare the full cost, location and collection plan, rather than treating monthly storage and a few hours in a locker as the same service.
| Option | Price basis | Collection | Good fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Silk Crane: send into storage for later delivery | Monthly or annual plan + separate shipping | Later delivery in Japan | Belongings that can skip part of the trip |
| Airport coin lockers | T1/T2 ordinary sizes ¥400–¥1,000 per 24 hours | Same locker; maximum seven days | A bag needed back at Haneda |
| Airport baggage-storage counters | Size bands ¥800 / ¥1,000 / ¥2,000 | Same counter; hours vary by terminal | A suitcase or bulky bag that needs staff holding |
| Sagawa T2 domestic counter | Up to 100 cm ¥800; up to 160 cm ¥1,000; above 160 cm ¥2,000 per day | 07:00–20:00 | T2 domestic-side collection |
1. Silk Crane: send into storage for later delivery
Send your suitcase from your hotel front desk or a convenience store, keep a smaller bag and arrange delivery when you want the stored belongings again. There is no trip to a Silk Crane storefront or return to the same locker.
Choose a monthly or annual storage plan for your Haneda Airport itinerary; shipping is charged separately. Sign up before sending and follow the supplied instructions. Silk Crane has no walk-in counter at Haneda Airport and does not offer immediate retrieval.
Keep documents, medicine and what you need during shipping with you. Arrange delivery to your later hotel or departure airport in Japan in advance. If the bag is needed today, use local holding. If it is simply going straight to the next hotel, direct forwarding may suit better.
2. Airport coin lockers
Haneda’s locker maps and price tables cover the public areas of all three terminals. T1 and T2 list small ¥400, medium ¥500, large ¥600 and extra-large ¥1,000 per 24 hours; some taller units cost ¥1,500. T3 has its own price table. The published maximum is seven days.
Choose a bank in the terminal you will return to. Save its floor and location as well as the collection code. A long sports case may not fit even a large compartment; measure the case against the actual locker opening.
3. Airport baggage-storage counters
Haneda’s baggage-storage counter guide places T1’s counter on B1 south and T2’s on B1 north, both open 08:00–19:30. T3’s arrivals 2F and departures 3F counters are listed as open 24 hours. These are landside locations, before security.
The airport lists size bands of ¥800, ¥1,000 and ¥2,000, with a 30 kg limit. T3 is quoted per 24 hours. Confirm the billing boundary and maximum period at your specific desk: the airport and individual operator pages do not describe every counter’s terms identically. Keep the receipt and collect before going through security.
4. Sagawa T2 domestic counter
Sagawa’s T2 domestic counter details and map identify the desk on domestic terminal 2, 1F, open 07:00–20:00. The storage price uses combined length, width and height: up to 100 cm ¥800, up to 160 cm ¥1,000 and above 160 cm ¥2,000 per item/day.
Online booking is linked from the operator’s page. This is a separate choice from the international arrival-floor shipping desk; check the map before walking over. Holding and delivery are different services.
Store sports gear before or after the activity
Golf clubs, skis, snowboards and bicycle equipment do not need to follow every stop of your holiday. If the sporting activity comes later, send the gear to Silk Crane as soon as you arrive in Japan, using the airport shipping counter and the instructions supplied after signup. Travel with a smaller bag, then ask us to forward the gear to your next hotel or sporting destination in Japan when it is time to use it.
Finished the sporting part of the trip? Send the equipment or extra luggage into storage, enjoy the rest of Japan or a side trip around Asia, and arrange delivery to your final hotel in Japan or your Japanese departure airport. For an Asia side trip, the gear stays in Japan until you return; this is not international forwarding.
Plan the return shipment with us before the next activity or flight, allowing at least seven days’ notice whenever possible and waiting for the agreed delivery schedule. See how hotel, resort and airport delivery works. Shipping is charged separately.
For skis and snowboards, arrange sending through your hotel or a carrier counter. Measure a packed bicycle case before booking: length + width + height must not exceed 200 cm for this shipping service. Cases above that limit cannot be sent through the service to storage, a hotel or an airport. Our bicycle packing and 200 cm guide explains the practical limit. Ask the airport counter about packing and acceptance before taking bulky gear there.
Where to send your luggage
For arrival-to-storage sending, Yamato’s airport counter directory identifies Haneda T3 international shipping on 2F and T2 international shipping on 2F. T2’s international pickup counter is on 3F. Follow the shipping location for a bag you are sending, rather than the pickup location.
Sign up for Silk Crane before handing over the bag. The airport counter is a carrier’s service point, not a Silk Crane branch. If you have already left the airport, send an ordinary suitcase from your hotel front desk or a convenience store. Plan the arrival-to-storage handoff before deciding what to keep with you.
A convenience-store handoff while you are out
Already checked out and exploring Tokyo? Picture sending an ordinary suitcase from a convenience store before a waterfront walk. Sign up for Silk Crane, use the supplied instructions, keep what you need during shipping and arrange later delivery in Japan. The 7-Eleven scene below shows suitcase sending; use your hotel or a carrier counter for skis and snowboards.

Questions before choosing
Can I collect stored sports gear at Haneda immediately?
Silk Crane return delivery must be arranged in advance. If you need a bag later today, use local airport holding and collect it yourself.
Can I store gear before a side trip to Asia?
Yes: arrange storage in Japan, take the smaller bag on your side trip, and schedule delivery to your Japan hotel or departure airport after you return. Allow shipping time before the flight.
Enjoy the next stop with less to carry
Send the extra suitcase from your hotel front desk or a convenience store and arrange delivery to a later stop in Japan. Choose monthly or annual storage; shipping is charged separately.
