From a Centrair arrival to a lighter Nagoya stay
Imagine arriving at Chubu Centrair before a Nagoya stay and several weeks of smaller hotels around Japan. At the first hotel, sort what you will need, sign up for Silk Crane and follow the sending instructions. Send the spare suitcase from your hotel front desk, keeping enough clothing and essentials for the next stops and shipping time.

Already checked out with the case? A convenience store can also be the sending point. Browse Osu or enjoy Sakae with a small bag, then continue the trip. Arrange delivery to your final hotel so there is time to unpack purchases and prepare for the flight.

Leave the sports gear out of the sightseeing days
Bringing golf clubs, skis, a snowboard or a packed bicycle, but sightseeing first? Sign up for Silk Crane and send the gear from the airport Yamato counter using the supplied instructions. Keep the belongings you need during shipping, travel with smaller bags, then arrange delivery to your activity destination in Japan when it is time to use the equipment.
After the activity, you can send the gear or extra luggage into storage from your hotel, enjoy the rest of Japan or an Asia side trip, and arrange delivery to your final hotel in Japan or your Japan departure airport. Plan the delivery in advance. For a bicycle, measure the packed case before booking: cases over 200 cm in combined length, width and height cannot use this shipping service.
Sending from an airport Yamato counter

Send the spare suitcase after your first stay
Silk Crane’s monthly and annual storage suits luggage that can skip the next part of Japan or wait between visits. Sign up before sending and use the assigned address and account details. Send from your hotel front desk or a convenience store, keep essentials with you and plan the shipping charge separately.
Choose the baggage counter for your terminal
For airport holding, the Centrair baggage-storage directory lists Terminal 1 counters in the 2F arrivals lobby and 3F departures lobby. Terminal 2’s 1F arrivals counter is currently marked temporarily closed; its 2F departures counter has a shorter operating window. Check the current hours before leaving the bag. A counter in another terminal may mean extra collection time.
Check the locker’s access window
The Centrair locker guide lists different access hours by floor. Access Plaza and Terminal 1 2F lockers are listed as accessible around the clock, while upper-floor areas close overnight. Check the actual bank’s dimensions, payment and retrieval instructions. Keep your access details outside the suitcase, and allow for collection before the onward train or flight.
Forward to the next hotel or store for later
Direct forwarding may fit a suitcase needed at the next hotel. Confirm the receiving reservation, arrival date and carrier terms before sending; keep clothing and essentials until the stated delivery date.
For Silk Crane storage, request the return at least seven days ahead. Final-hotel delivery gives you space to unpack and repack. For an airport return, provide the flight and terminal and follow the confirmed Yamato counter instructions before airline check-in. Do not assume the counter nearest your arrival gate is the return collection point.
