A lighter flight, with your Japan belongings stored for next time

Imagine a couple who return to Japan regularly. At the end of a Nagoya stay, they have a suitcase of clothes and familiar travel kit they would rather keep in Japan. They sort it at their hotel, sign up for Silk Crane and send it using the supplied instructions, keeping the essentials needed during shipping and the flight.
The airport journey is easier with small bags. With enough time before departure, they can enjoy the Sky Deck rather than organize another suitcase. Before the next Japan visit, they arrange delivery to their first hotel. A convenience store can also be the sending point when they have already checked out.
Leave the sports gear out of the sightseeing days
Bringing golf clubs, skis, a snowboard or a packed bicycle, but sightseeing first? Sign up for Silk Crane and send the gear from the airport Yamato counter using the supplied instructions. Keep the belongings you need during shipping, travel with smaller bags, then arrange delivery to your activity destination in Japan when it is time to use the equipment.
After the activity, you can send the gear or extra luggage into storage from your hotel, enjoy the rest of Japan or an Asia side trip, and arrange delivery to your final hotel in Japan or your Japan departure airport. Plan the delivery in advance. For a bicycle, measure the packed case before booking: cases over 200 cm in combined length, width and height cannot use this shipping service.

1. Silk Crane: send the bag and arrange later delivery
Choose Silk Crane when your extra luggage can skip part of the journey. Send from your hotel front desk or a convenience store, keep a smaller bag and arrange delivery when you want the stored belongings again. There is no trip to a Silk Crane storage location or return to the same locker.
Cost: a monthly or annual plan, plus separate shipping. Compare the current storage plans together with sending and return-delivery costs. Silk Crane has no walk-in counter at Chubu Centrair Airport and does not provide immediate retrieval or same-day local holding.
Sign up before sending and follow the supplied instructions. Keep documents, medicine and everything needed during shipping with you. The hotel and airport delivery guide explains how to plan the return. If you simply need the suitcase at your next hotel soon, direct forwarding may be the simpler choice.
2. Yamato baggage counters: compare the terminal floors
The Centrair baggage-counter directory and maps lists ¥550 per suitcase per day. Each date counts separately. T1 arrivals 2F opens 07:00–22:00; T1 departures 3F opens 06:30–21:30. T2 departures 2F opens 11:00–18:00; T2 arrivals holding is temporarily closed.
Choose the counter around your collection journey, not just where you first arrive. Multi-day holding is available. Confirm the pickup counter and total for your dates, particularly if your return flight uses a different terminal.
3. Airport lockers: know which floor stays accessible
The Centrair locker guide and floor maps lists small ¥500/day and large ¥1,000/day, with cashless payment. Large compartments measure 87 × 35 × 67 cm internally; include wheels and handles when measuring your suitcase.
Access Plaza, T1 2F and FLIGHT OF DREAMS banks have 24-hour access. T1 3F normally closes at 23:30; T1 4F closes at 22:30. Charges increase after midnight. For longer stays, the airport directs travelers needing more than 11 days to baggage storage; check the selected locker’s posted limit.
Keep the receipt or access details with you and photograph the bank. A locker inside an airport building still needs a deliberate collection stop before airline check-in.
4. T1 cart holding: several bags for one airport visit
The airport’s luggage-cart holding service is on T1 3F near the central escalators, open 07:00–21:00. It costs ¥880 per cart for same-day holding during those hours, with cash payment and a maximum stacked height of 145 cm.
This is useful when a group wants to spend a few hours in the airport. It is not an overnight bundle price: missed collection leads to next-day collection and additional per-item storage charges. Check the deadline before leaving the cart.
5. Global WiFi: Access Plaza counter holding
Centrair’s Global WiFi storage listing gives ¥800 per small item or ¥1,000 per suitcase per day, with reception 07:00–21:00. The airport links advance booking and places the counter in Access Plaza, between the station and Aichi Sky Expo.
This can suit an airport-area outing when you want a counter handoff near the trains. Use the exact location in the booking; the brand also provides other airport services. Check the final reservation charge and pickup time before leaving your bag.
Send from town or use the airport’s shipping counter
Your hotel front desk or a convenience store can let you start the airport journey with less. Sign up for Silk Crane before sending and use the supplied address and instructions.
Already at Centrair? Use Centrair’s luggage-delivery counter maps to choose a shipping counter. T1 arrivals 2F accepts shipments, 07:00–22:00, with an 18:00 same-day dispatch cutoff. T1 departures 3F is pickup-only. T2 departures 2F handles shipping and pickup, 11:00–18:00. Allow time for the handoff before your flight.
For delivery back from Silk Crane, follow the collection details supplied for your booking. A later hotel can be simpler than airport delivery when you want to unpack or rearrange belongings before flying.
Questions before choosing
Is there one best Centrair option for every suitcase?
No. A suitcase stored locally for a day, several bags on a cart for an afternoon and belongings left in Japan between visits are different needs. Compare the full charge and collection journey for yours.
Does Silk Crane have a counter at Centrair?
No. Silk Crane stores shipped belongings and arranges later delivery. Airport shipping counters are separate businesses. Do not leave belongings at a counter expecting immediate access to Silk Crane storage.
Enjoy the next stop with less to carry
Send the extra luggage from your hotel front desk or a convenience store and arrange delivery to a later stop in Japan. Choose monthly or annual storage; shipping is charged separately.
