5 Akihabara Luggage Storage Options Compared
Share
Give Akihabara’s camera shops, games and collectibles your attention instead of a spare suitcase. With Silk Crane, send extra luggage from your hotel front desk or a convenience store and arrange delivery to a later stop.
Monthly and annual storage are available, with shipping charged separately. For a bag you need after today’s shopping, compare the local lockers below. The useful distinction is often the station side: Electric Town to the west, or Showa-dori and the Hibiya Line to the east.

A camera-shopping afternoon before smaller towns

Picture checking out near Akihabara before browsing camera shops, then leaving Tokyo for several nights in smaller inns. You can keep your camera and travel essentials in a daypack while sending the spare clothes you will not need on that leg.
Sign up for Silk Crane, follow the supplied instructions and hand over the packed suitcase at your hotel front desk or a convenience store. Keep everything needed during shipping with you, then arrange delivery to your final Tokyo hotel with time to repack. Your afternoon can end at the station you actually need, without a separate locker-collection trip.
A convenience-store stop, then a lighter day
Already out with a suitcase you will not need for the next part of the trip? Picture sending it from a convenience store, then carrying on with a small bag. Sign up for Silk Crane, follow the supplied sending instructions, keep your essentials during shipping and arrange delivery to a later hotel in Japan.

1. Silk Crane: send the bag and arrange later delivery
Choose Silk Crane when the extra suitcase can skip part of your trip. Send from your hotel front desk or a convenience store, keep a smaller bag and arrange delivery when you need the stored belongings again. There is no trip to a Silk Crane storage location and no return journey to collect from the same locker.
Cost: a monthly or annual plan, plus separate shipping. Compare the current storage plans together with sending and return-delivery costs. Silk Crane has no walk-in counter at Akihabara and does not provide immediate retrieval or same-day local holding.
Sign up before sending and use the supplied address and instructions. Keep documents, medicine and everything needed during shipping with you. The hotel and airport delivery guide explains how to plan the bag’s return. If the suitcase simply needs to reach your next hotel soon, direct forwarding may be the simpler arrangement.
2. JR Multi-e-cube: collect inside the gates
The Multi-e-cube Akihabara listing places this bank on 2F inside JR’s gates, near the escalator toward the Electric Town Exit. Storage prices run from ¥300 for SS to ¥800 for L; an online reservation adds ¥500.
Access follows the first and last trains. This is a convenient return point when both journeys use JR, but a Metro or Tsukuba Express ticket does not by itself provide entry to the JR paid area. Check ticket access before leaving your bag.
3. Hibiya Line lockers: remember the exit number
The Metro Akihabara locker map shows banks near Exit 3 and Exit 5. Listed sizes are small ¥500, medium ¥600 and large ¥900.
Choose the bank around your Hibiya Line return rather than walking toward Electric Town simply because it is the better-known exit. Save the bank label and check the compartment’s dimensions and collection conditions before payment.
4. Fuji Electric Town locker room: stay on the shopping side
Fuji’s Akihabara location map identifies the Akihabara Ekimae Room, K-6009, on the Electric Town side. Listed prices are ¥500 small, ¥600 medium, ¥900 large and ¥1,200 extra-large, with access 05:30–24:00.
Use the operator’s numbered map and photographs to find this room; it is a different facility from JR’s inside-gate bank. It can suit an afternoon on the west side followed by collection before midnight.
5. Fuji Showa-dori plaza lockers: an outside option for a late return
Fuji’s same map lists the Showa-dori Exit plaza, Metro-side bank K-6001(2)(3), with 24-hour access. Prices are ¥500 small, ¥600 medium, ¥800 large and ¥1,000 extra-large.
This is the same operator as option four, but a different location and access window. It may be the more useful collection point after dinner east of the station. Check the bank’s daily charge rules and maximum storage period; 24-hour access does not mean unlimited storage.
Two nearby places to send your suitcase
Your hotel front desk may save a walk altogether. Already out with the suitcase? Yamato’s directory lists these nearby places as accepting shipments. They are sending points, not Silk Crane storage branches.
7-Eleven Akihabara Station
1-21-1 Kanda Sakumacho
Walking directions to 7-Eleven Akihabara Station — about 57 m / 1 min from the Akihabara Station map reference point.
Yamato Akihabara Station Center
1-15-8 Sotokanda, Hoshino Building
Walking directions to Yamato Akihabara Station Center — about 78 m / 1 min from the Akihabara Station map reference point.
The convenience store is listed as open 24 hours and does not accept Size 180 or 200 parcels. The Yamato center lists 09:00–19:30 weekdays and 09:00–19:00 weekends and holidays. Shipping cutoffs and opening hours are separate; follow your sending instructions.
Walking estimates were checked on October 5, 2026, from the named starting point beside each link. They exclude platforms, indoor navigation, queues and the shipping handoff. The routes are useful examples, not a claim that these are the nearest stores. Allow extra time with luggage.
Questions before choosing
Which is best for a suitcase I need tonight?
Choose a local locker that fits the case and your return route. Check the gate side and closing time before paying. Silk Crane is for belongings sent into storage and delivered later, so it needs shipping time.
Are these five different companies?
No. They are five practical storage choices. The two Fuji locations appear separately because their station sides and collection hours can change your day. Choose by the journey rather than treating this as a brand ranking.
Keep the next part of Japan simple
