Tokyo luggage storage: friends identify their separate suitcases while planning onward delivery with hotel staff.

Two Travelers, Different Plans: Tokyo Luggage Storage

You can share the start of a Tokyo trip without sharing the whole itinerary. Silk Crane can store the extra bags, then arrange separate domestic deliveries when your plans go different ways. Send ordinary luggage from your hotel front desk or a convenience store and give each suitcase a clear destination and date.

Silk Crane offers monthly and annual storage; shipping is charged separately.

One traveler stays in Tokyo, the other continues to Kyoto

Send the spare bags into storage and arrange their next stops around each traveler.

Picture two friends beginning a Japan holiday together in Tokyo. One has a final Tokyo stay before flying home; the other continues to Kyoto for another week. Their extra suitcases can skip the shared middle of the trip, but will be needed in different places afterward.

Open the storage account and use the supplied sending instructions. Send the spare cases from the hotel front desk or a convenience store, keeping each traveler’s essentials for the trip and shipping. Make a clear list of which case belongs to which delivery plan.

Request one bag for the final Tokyo hotel and the other for the Kyoto hotel on its later receiving date. Arrange both early enough for shipping. Neither traveler has to make a luggage collection trip simply because that was where the shared itinerary began.

A convenience-store stop, then a lighter day

Already out with a suitcase you will not need for the next part of the trip? Picture sending it from a convenience store, then carrying on with a small bag. Sign up for Silk Crane, follow the supplied sending instructions, keep your essentials during shipping and arrange delivery to a later hotel in Japan.

Friends from Denver, Vermont and Europe, together in Japan

One customer group brought together two travelers from the United States—one from Denver and one from Vermont—and a friend who flew in from Europe. They met in Japan and used Silk Crane luggage storage while traveling around the country together.

When they were ready to leave Japan, Silk Crane sent their extra luggage to the airport for them to take home. The bags could wait while the friends enjoyed the trip, then be delivered for departure.

When a group needs separate deliveries, clear bag descriptions, destinations and dates make those arrangements easier to plan.

Make the instructions about physical bags

Describe each suitcase clearly or provide a photograph. Label the physical packages using the account name and suite details supplied by Silk Crane. Avoid an instruction such as “send my bag” when two similar cases are stored.

Keep a simple list with the bag description, receiving hotel, reservation name and required date for each shipment. A shared trip can produce different delivery needs; the information should make those differences easy to follow.

Confirm the receiving arrangements separately

Each hotel needs to be able to receive the relevant traveler’s bag. Give Silk Crane the destination and required date for each package and wait for the delivery arrangements to be confirmed.

If one traveler changes plans, contact Silk Crane about that specific shipment. A new flight or hotel booking does not automatically update instructions already given for luggage.

The hotel and airport delivery guide explains domestic receiving options. If one person wants airport collection, arrange the flight, terminal and named counter separately rather than treating it as an ordinary hotel delivery.

One request does not mean one shipping price

A single request can contain several suitcase instructions, but outgoing shipping is calculated per package according to its route. Different dates and destinations can therefore mean different charges. Confirm the arrangements rather than assuming a group price covers every movement.

Use the shipping estimates alongside your storage plan. Our family and group storage guide provides more detail for larger parties.

This is domestic delivery in Japan. A traveler flying home receives their luggage in Japan before departure; separate routes do not imply an international shipment.

Questions before you send your bags

Can two stored suitcases go to different hotels?

Yes. Identify each bag and provide its own destination and required date in advance.

Can they leave storage on different dates?

Yes. Arrange the timing for each physical package and allow shipping time.

Is there one shipping charge for the whole request?

No. Each outgoing package is charged for its own shipment according to the route and carrier terms.

What if the suitcases look alike?

Provide clear descriptions or photographs and follow the supplied identification instructions so each delivery refers to the correct bag.

Make the next part of the trip easier

Let each traveler keep the route they want. Give every stored suitcase a clear next destination and let the shared trip branch naturally.
