Sannomiya Station luggage storage: hotel staff take a suitcase before the traveler continues through Kobe’s station district with a small bag.

Sannomiya Station Luggage Storage: Find the Right Kobe Locker

Head through Sannomiya with the bag you need for the next part of Japan. With Silk Crane’s monthly and annual storage, send the extra suitcase from your hotel front desk or a convenience store and arrange delivery to a later hotel. You can continue beyond Kobe without returning to the same station locker. Shipping is charged separately.

For luggage storage around Sannomiya, begin with the railway operator. JR Sannomiya, Hankyu and Hanshin Kobe-Sannomiya, the subway and Port Liner are neighboring connections with separate station spaces.

Imagine checking out of a Kobe hotel with a longer Japan journey ahead. Your suitcase carries earlier shopping, while a small shoulder bag holds what you need for the next stage. Sign up with Silk Crane and send the surplus suitcase from the hotel using its sending instructions.

Head toward Sannomiya with less to carry, then arrange delivery of the stored bag to a later hotel in advance. If you need the suitcase after a few hours of sightseeing, use local holding and return within that service’s collection window instead.

If you are already out with the packed suitcase, you can send it from a convenience store before continuing your onward Kansai journey. Keep the clothes, documents and everyday essentials you need during shipping with you.

JR and Hankyu have their own station layouts

JR Sannomiya Station information lists coin lockers. Use JR signs and the current station map to find the bank that fits your onward platform and exit, then record the exact gate area and machine number.

Hankyu’s Kobe-Sannomiya station map is a separate map. Do not apply a JR locker location to Hankyu just because both are in Sannomiya. Check dimensions, payment method and renewal rules at the actual machine.

Subway and Port Liner locations differ too

The Kobe subway’s Sannomiya guide lists lockers around its east and west concourses. Its Seishin-Yamate Line station is distinct from Sannomiya-Hanadokeimae on the Kaigan Line, so keep the line name with your collection details.

The Port Liner Sannomiya station guide lists lockers both inside and outside the gates. Check which side you use before leaving the bag, especially if you are traveling to Kobe Airport. Ticket-gate access and the walk to the platform matter as well as the locker price.

If the suitable lockers are full

Ask your hotel whether it can hold luggage, or check a local baggage business directly. Tabi Sapo’s luggage-service information describes a service near the station’s west side for bags that may not fit lockers.

Confirm the current charge, bag acceptance and collection window before visiting. Its luggage terms say bags cannot be retrieved between 19:00 and 9:00 the next morning; do not treat general contact-hours graphics as a promise of late collection.

Leave time for the actual next station

Shin-Kobe’s Shinkansen platforms are not inside Sannomiya. JR Kobe Station is another separate stop. Allow time to collect, make any connection and reach the correct platform before departure.

Our Nankinmachi luggage guide covers a separate Motomachi-area outing, while the Kobe city luggage guide connects shopping and the waterfront. Choose storage around the route you will take back, including a realistic walk between different Sannomiya operators.

Questions before you leave your bag

Does JR Sannomiya have coin lockers?

JR West lists coin lockers at Sannomiya. Check current signs and the actual bank’s size, price and access terms.

Are all Sannomiya lockers outside the gates?

No. The Port Liner guide, for example, lists lockers on both sides. Check the exact bank and gate access before storing the bag.

Can I use one station name to find any Sannomiya locker?

Use more detail: operator, line, gate side, floor and machine number. Several neighboring stations use similar names.

Is Sannomiya the Shinkansen station?

No. Kobe’s Shinkansen stop is Shin-Kobe. Allow time for the connection if you leave a bag at Sannomiya.
