5 Oshiage & Skytree Luggage Storage Options Compared
Share
Enjoy Tokyo Skytree, browse Solamachi and take a riverside break with less to carry. With Silk Crane, send your extra suitcase from your hotel front desk or a convenience store and arrange delivery when you need it again.
Monthly and annual storage, with shipping charged separately, can keep a spare case out of the next part of Japan. For luggage needed after today’s visit, compare Oshiage’s railway lockers, Solamachi lockers and Sagawa’s counter. The right choice depends on which station side you will return to.

Skytree today, a smaller bag for the next towns

Picture a Skytree visit before leaving Tokyo for a few nights in the countryside. The spare suitcase contains clothing and shopping you can do without until the last Tokyo stay. Sign up for Silk Crane, follow the supplied sending instructions and send it from your hotel front desk or a convenience store.
Keep the belongings needed during shipping with you. After the tower and shops, there is time for a riverside break instead of another trip to collect the extra case. Arrange delivery to your final hotel with enough time to receive and repack it before leaving Japan.
A convenience-store stop, then a lighter day
Already out with a suitcase you will not need for the next part of the trip? Picture sending it from a convenience store, then carrying on with a small bag. Sign up for Silk Crane, follow the supplied sending instructions, keep your essentials during shipping and arrange delivery to a later hotel in Japan.

1. Silk Crane: send the bag and arrange later delivery
Choose Silk Crane when the extra suitcase can skip part of your trip. Send from your hotel front desk or a convenience store, keep a smaller bag and arrange delivery when you need the stored belongings again. There is no trip to a Silk Crane storage location and no return journey to collect from the same locker.
Cost: a monthly or annual plan, plus separate shipping. Compare the current storage plans together with sending and return-delivery costs. Silk Crane has no walk-in counter at Oshiage & Skytree and does not provide immediate retrieval or same-day local holding.
Sign up before sending and use the supplied address and instructions. Keep documents, medicine and everything needed during shipping with you. The hotel and airport delivery guide explains how to plan the bag’s return. If the suitcase simply needs to reach your next hotel soon, direct forwarding may be the simpler arrangement.
2. Hanzomon-side lockers: start with the Metro map
Tokyo Metro’s Oshiage locker directory links to the relevant location map. The Metro Commerce price directory lists small ¥500, medium ¥600, large ¥900 and extra-large ¥1,000 at Oshiage.
Use the map to locate your bank and note its gate side before leaving. A station-wide size listing does not guarantee that the nearest bank has a vacant compartment for your suitcase.
3. Keisei/Asakusa-side lockers: a separate station section
Toei’s Oshiage station information confirms coin lockers and identifies Keisei as the station manager for this side. Use the Keisei Oshiage station map for orientation, then read the bank’s current price, compartment size and access rules.
This is a useful alternative when your arrival and onward trip follow the Keisei or Asakusa Line side. Do not assume it shares a collection point or pricing with the Hanzomon-side lockers simply because both are called Oshiage.
4. Solamachi lockers: keep the bag beside the outing
The Tokyo Solamachi services guide lists luggage lockers across the complex at ¥300 extra-small, ¥500 small, ¥600 medium, ¥800 large and ¥1,000 extra-large, with a link to current locker information.
Choose the exact bank on the floor guide and read its collection window. This can suit a day centered on the tower and shopping, but the mall’s shops, restaurants and locker access need not all close together. Keep the bank location with your receipt.
5. Sagawa: a Solamachi counter for larger cases
Sagawa’s Tokyo Skytree service center is on Solamachi Tower 1F, 1-1-2 Oshiage, with hours 10:00–21:00. The listed daily fee is ¥800 up to 100 cm, ¥1,000 up to 160 cm, or ¥1,300 from 161 cm, using the combined length, width and height.
Walking route toward the Sagawa Solamachi counter — about 220 m / 3 min from the Oshiage Station map reference point. Allow additional time to reach the desk and hand over the case. Confirm the charge for your packed bag and collect before the counter closes.
Two nearby places to send your suitcase
Your hotel front desk may save a walk altogether. Already out with the suitcase? Yamato’s directory lists these nearby places as accepting shipments. They are sending points, not Silk Crane storage branches.
7-Eleven Oshiage Station
1-16-11 Oshiage
Walking directions to 7-Eleven Oshiage Station — about 230 m / 3 min from the Oshiage Station map reference point.
7-Eleven Sumida Oshiage 1-chome
1-33-3 Oshiage
Walking directions to 7-Eleven Sumida Oshiage 1-chome — about 350 m / 5 min from the Oshiage Station map reference point.
The directory lists both stores as open 24 hours. Carrier collection has separate cutoffs, and these stores do not accept Size 180 or 200 parcels. For larger luggage, use a Yamato service center and follow your sending instructions.
Walking estimates were checked on October 5, 2026, from the named starting point beside each link. They exclude platforms, indoor navigation, queues and the shipping handoff. The routes are useful examples, not a claim that these are the nearest stores. Allow extra time with luggage.
Questions before choosing
Should I choose Oshiage station or Solamachi storage?
Choose around the collection journey. Railway lockers may suit a quick return to your train; Solamachi lockers or Sagawa can keep the bag closer to a day in the complex. Check hours and compartment size before deciding.
Is Silk Crane a counter at Skytree?
No. Send luggage into storage from your hotel front desk or a convenience store, then arrange later delivery. For a suitcase you need immediately after the tower visit, compare the local holding choices above.
