5 Osaka Station & Umeda Luggage Storage Options Compared

Enjoy Umeda’s shops, rooftop views and dinner plans with less to carry. With Silk Crane, send extra luggage from your hotel front desk or a convenience store and arrange delivery when you need it again.

Monthly and annual storage, with shipping charged separately, can keep the spare case out of the next part of Japan. For a suitcase needed tonight, compare Crosta and three railway locker choices below. JR Osaka, Hankyu Osaka-Umeda and Hanshin Osaka-Umeda are connected by walks, but they are not one collection point.

An Umeda rooftop pause before a different Osaka return

A traveler sends a burgundy suitcase from a hotel front desk, then enjoys coffee on an Umeda rooftop terrace.
Send the extra suitcase and take an unhurried rooftop break in Umeda.

Imagine a shopping afternoon in Umeda before a week visiting smaller towns. You will return to Osaka, but your final hotel is in Namba. Keeping an extra suitcase at the original station would build an Umeda collection trip into that return.

Sign up for Silk Crane and send the case from your hotel front desk or a convenience store using the supplied instructions. Keep clothes and essentials for the journey and shipping time. Enjoy a rooftop coffee, then continue with the smaller bag. Arrange delivery to the final Namba hotel, where you can unpack and prepare for your flight.

A convenience-store stop, then a lighter day

Already out with a suitcase you will not need for the next part of the trip? Picture sending it from a convenience store, then carrying on with a small bag. Sign up for Silk Crane, follow the supplied sending instructions, keep your essentials during shipping and arrange delivery to a later hotel in Japan.

1. Silk Crane: send the bag and arrange later delivery

Choose Silk Crane when your extra luggage can skip part of the journey. Send from your hotel front desk or a convenience store, keep a smaller bag and arrange delivery when you want the stored belongings again. There is no trip to a Silk Crane storage location or return to the same locker.

Cost: a monthly or annual plan, plus separate shipping. Compare the current storage plans together with sending and return-delivery costs. Silk Crane has no walk-in counter at Osaka Station & Umeda and does not provide immediate retrieval or same-day local holding.

Sign up before sending and follow the supplied instructions. Keep documents, medicine and everything needed during shipping with you. The hotel and airport delivery guide explains how to plan the return. If you simply need the suitcase at your next hotel soon, direct forwarding may be the simpler choice.

2. Crosta Osaka: outside the JR gates

Crosta Osaka’s counter guide locates the service on 1F at the north side of the central concourse, beside Nippon Travel Agency. Holding is ¥1,000 per day, with hours 09:00–20:00 and a maximum of 30 days.

The Central Gate is the closest JR gate; Crosta also provides access guidance from Midosuji and Sakurabashi. A counter can be useful when you prefer a person-to-person handoff, but leave time to collect before dinner runs late.

3. JR Osaka lockers: useful for the Station City shops

LUCUA’s official services guide directs visitors to JR Osaka Station lockers on 1F and 3F outside the ticket gates. It specifically says there are no lockers inside LUCUA itself.

Choose a bank that fits your shopping route and train departure. Check the live price and dimensions on the locker, then save its floor and nearby gate. A “large” size label does not establish that your packed case fits or that a compartment is free.

4. Hankyu Osaka-Umeda lockers: keep a Hankyu journey together

Use the Hankyu Osaka-Umeda station map to orient yourself on the Hankyu side, and follow the station’s coin-locker signs. Read the particular bank’s price and collection conditions before payment.

This choice can make sense when you arrive and leave on Hankyu, or finish shopping near that station. It avoids choosing a locker at JR simply because “Osaka Station” was the first search result. Check the gate side as well as the floor before setting off.

5. Hanshin Osaka-Umeda lockers: choose the underground return

Hanshin’s station facilities directory confirms coin lockers at Osaka-Umeda. The Hanshin Osaka-Umeda station guide provides the layout for its underground station and exits.

Use these when a Hanshin departure gives you the simplest collection route. They are distinct from Hankyu’s lockers despite both railways using the Osaka-Umeda name. Compare the actual bank’s price, size and access hours; a short walk on a city map can still include stairs and underground turns.

Two nearby places to send your suitcase

Your hotel front desk may save a walk altogether. Already out with the case? Yamato’s directory lists these nearby places as accepting shipments. They are sending points, not Silk Crane storage branches.

Yamato store listing

Yamato’s directory lists both stores at 07:00–23:00. These are basement shops; allow time for the final indoor approach. Neither accepts Size 180 or 200 parcels. The carrier’s collection cutoff is separate from the store’s closing time.

Walking estimates were checked October 5, 2026, from the map starting point named beside each link. Allow extra time for platforms, indoor navigation, stairs, queues and the handoff. These are useful examples, not a claim that they are the nearest stores.

Questions before choosing

Are these five different companies?

They are five practical storage choices, selected around the journey. The three railway locker areas have different access routes. Choose the location and collection arrangement that help your day, rather than treating the list as an independent brand ranking.

Can I store luggage inside LUCUA?

LUCUA’s services page says it has no coin lockers inside the shopping complex. It directs visitors to JR Osaka Station’s outside-gate lockers on 1F and 3F. Check the exact bank before leaving your case.
