Picture leaving the large suitcase in storage before a few days exploring canal towns and small inns. You travel with a daypack and a smaller overnight bag.
When the settled-in hotel stay comes later, you arrange delivery there. The suitcase stays out of the walking days and comes back into the plan when you need it.
Before the canal-town stay, sign up and follow your supplied sending instructions at the hotel front desk or a convenience store. Keep clothes, medication and documents for the walking days and shipping with you, and arrange delivery for the later settled-in stay.
What happens while your luggage is stored
Humidity is managed
Silk Crane uses humidity-controlled storage for ordinary luggage and sports gear. It does not promise a fixed humidity or temperature reading for each package.
Pack securely and send belongings clean and dry. The service is intended for everyday travel items, rather than goods needing a tightly specified environment.
Keep cold-chain items out
The storage is not refrigerated or frozen. Do not send food, medicine or other temperature-sensitive goods that depend on a controlled cold chain.

Use shipping instead of a warehouse visit
Send the bags in, then arrange their next delivery. The facility is not a public walk-in warehouse, and the location is kept general for operational and security reasons.
A visit, direct drop-off or collection needs a special arrangement in advance. Plan the usual service around hotel or carrier handovers.
Some services involve opening a package
Staff may open or inspect luggage for identification, safety, declared battery handling or a service you have requested.
That includes combining purchases with your stored luggage and arranged care. Budget separately for shipping using the shipping estimates.
