Izumoshi Station Luggage Storage and Lockers
Share
Make Izumoshi a lighter stop on your Japan journey. Send your spare suitcase from the hotel to Silk Crane, carry what you need for Sanin and arrange later delivery instead of bringing every bag through each station.
An easier departure after Izumo
Picture checking out of your hotel with an onward train later that day. You have a few essentials in a small backpack and a larger case that will be useful at a later stop. Your hotel helps you send the extra case into Silk Crane storage.
You can head for the station area and continue the journey without collecting that suitcase from a locker first. Plan the stored bag’s delivery for the hotel where you will need it again, keeping enough clothing and everyday essentials with you during shipping.

Where are the JR Izumoshi Station lockers?
Izumo’s official locker listing places the JR lockers left of the north exit, lists 24-hour access and describes cash payment. Check the current instructions and whether the compartment fits before paying.
A locker can work well for a bag you need again after an outing. Keep a record of the precise bank, retain the key or access information and plan to retrieve the bag before your train. Published access hours do not mean a suitable compartment will be available when you arrive.
Tourist-office holding ends at 16:00
The Izumo tourist office’s current baggage information lists same-day storage at ¥500 per item, 9:00–16:00. The office is in Atunes Izumo’s west building beside JR Izumoshi and opens until 17:00, but baggage collection is earlier.
Use the baggage deadline to work backward from your sightseeing return. If you expect to come back after 16:00, choose another arrangement before leaving. At the counter, confirm the bag is accepted, how to pay and when you need to collect it; keep your daily essentials with you.
JR, Dentetsu and the shrine-side station
Dentetsu Izumoshi is the nearby Ichibata Railway gateway; Izumo Taisha-mae is a different station at the visitor district. A locker booked in one place does not follow you to another. Write down both the departure station and the luggage collection point when planning a connected journey.
Ichibata also publishes a baggage-transfer service between staffed stations. Check the collection station and staff hours with the railway before using it. Do not assume that a railway transfer arrangement includes JR Izumoshi or your hotel.
Give the extra suitcase a break from the journey
Silk Crane fits the belongings you will not need while exploring Izumo and the rest of Sanin. Send the case from your hotel or a convenience store that handles luggage shipments, travel with your smaller bag and arrange delivery when you want the stored belongings back.
You can leave shopping, spare clothing and other unused luggage out of several stops instead of finding a new locker every day. Choose a Silk Crane monthly or annual storage plan; shipping is charged separately. Silk Crane does not operate a walk-in counter at Izumoshi Station or Izumo Taisha.
Keep the last part of the day simple
Build in time for returning from the shrine area, collecting today’s bag and reaching the platform. A train ticket’s departure time is the end of that sequence, not the time to arrive at a luggage counter.
Our Izumo Taisha luggage guide covers storage closer to the visit. For several days in the area, use the Izumo city guide to decide which belongings you can leave out of the trip entirely.
Send the spare suitcase and plan its return
Book storage, follow the sending instructions and ask your hotel front desk to help arrange the shipment. Keep medicine, documents and the belongings you need during shipping with you. Confirm that your later hotel can receive the case, then plan your storage and delivery dates.
Silk Crane receives shipped belongings for monthly or annual storage and later delivery. Shipping is charged separately; the storage and shipping cost guide explains the distinction. Arrange delivery in advance rather than expecting immediate collection at the station or attraction.
