Keep the suitcase off the beach route
Ask your hotel whether it can hold luggage before check-in or after checkout, and agree when you will collect it. The nearby station is convenient for arrival, but the Imaihama-Kaigan station information does not establish a locker facility.
If you plan to use lockers at Kawazu instead, include the return journey in your day. A beach hut or shower listing is not confirmation of secure suitcase storage. Keep valuables with you and choose your bag arrangement before walking onto the sand.

The official Imaihama beach page says lifeguard supervision for 2026 ended on 23 August. As of 28 September , the summer facility listing should not be treated as a promise of staffed swimming facilities. Check notices and conditions for the day you visit.
For a walk, bring the things you need without loading your bag with the rest of the trip. For a summer beach visit, confirm changing and shower arrangements separately from luggage holding. Leave time to return to the hotel, collect your case and reach the station before your chosen train.
